Lax was currently on the way to the fight between the head captain and the Siyokoy.

He was running towards them when he saw the Siyokoy that was fighting the head captain look towards him.

He stopped, took his bow, put an arrow on it, and pulled the string back with all his might as he infused the arrow with black energy.

He let go of the string, and the arrow went flying to the smirking Siyokoy.

Unfortunately, the arrow missed as the Siyokoy moved a step back.

That gave the captain enough time to move away from the Siyokoy, and the Siykoy looked at Lax in annoyance, then he disappeared from his spot.

"Shit!"  Lax exclaimed and moved his sword to block the incoming attack.

*Clank*

The Siyokoy suddenly appeared in front of Lax swinging his sword, and as Lax blocked his sword, he clenched his left fist and punched Lax.

Lax crossed his arms to block the attack, but he was still sent flying by the blow.

"Arghh!"

"My arms might have been broken if I didn't use my energy."

He muttered as he slowly got up and looked at the Siyokoy standing a few meters away from him with an amused look on his face.

"You're quite strong for a rank 2 human, but that is all because that won't change the fact that you'll die by my hands."

The Siyokoy mused as he readied his sword for another attack.

"I know, but aren't you forgetting something?"

Lax replied to the Siyokoy's words, and as he finished saying his words, a man appeared behind the Siyokoy, swinging his sword.

*Clank*

"HaHAHAHA! Did you really think that you would be able to defeat me if this man and you teamed up?" The Siyokoy mocked.

"Haha..."

Lax just chuckled at his words.

"Why are you laughing blindfolded man, have you finally gone crazy?"

The Siyokoy mockingly asked while he was defending himself against the attacks of the captain.

"Oh, but I'm not talking about him." Lax said playfully, and the Siyokoy finally realized something from his words.

But he was too late, as the vice captain appeared behind him, piercing Siyokoy's heart.

"Ughh! You! I'm gonna kill you!" The Siyokoy Shouted.

Even though the Siyokoy had a sword in his heart, he was still alive because of the strong life force of being a rank 5 and the strong vitality of a Siyokoy.

The vice captain quickly took a step back, sensing the Siyokoy's strong killing intent towards him, but the Siyokoy moved faster than he was able to step back and slashed his sword, beheading the vice captain.

The Siyokoy looked at the head of the vice captain with a sastified smile on his face as his body finally lost all its vitality and fell on the ground.

The Siyokoy died because he let his guard down, but judging from the result and as the saying goes, "They won the battle but lost the war".

Lax turned his gaze at the captain, who was looking at the lifeless body of the vice captain with tears in his eyes.

"What if..."

Lax muttered, and he thought about what he would do if he were in the same situation as the captain, with Nia's lifeless body on the ground and him in the captain's place.

"I won't allow that!" Lax shouted in his mind.

Just thinking about Nia dying in front of him and being powerless to do anything to prevent it made him grit his teeth and clench his fist.

Even though it was just a thought, it still made him very angry to think about it, as he was reminded of his past.

He then moved toward the captain after calming his mind.

*Ding!*

The system notification sounded and a few messages appeared, but he decided to ignore them for now as he continued walking to the captain.

Unknowingly to Lax, from this day onwards, he started to unconsciously think about Nia more and more.

If Nia knew this, she would have been jumping for joy with a big smile on her face.
