It can be difficult to tell which way a black cat is facing when their eyes are closed. In the right light, you can be right in front of them and not know! But Charcoal's bright ears, nose, and whiskers would give him away, so I had the colors slowly fade in as he opened his eyes.
By the way, the cats that appear are a nebelung, grey tabby, calico, harlequin, bombay, and... brown. Some of these are breeds and some of these are coat patterns, but that's how I describe them to myself. I didn't give them names, except for brown. Her name is Cappuccino.
