Elyn let out a small yawn as she made her way to the back of the train. Watching the sun rise in all its glory was the best way to begin any day. Her fellow night owls were most likely falling asleep after a night of drinking and conversing with new friends. For the first time in awhile, Elyn felt like she could get a couple of hours of sleep and maybe even have pleasant dreams for once.
"Ahh Adamas "It’s beautiful, is it not?" a friendly voice.
Elyn nodded in agreement, taking in the scene. The sun was gently rising; it was the start of a brand new day, and the possibilities were endless. This feeling didn’t happen often, but when it did, Elyn wanted to enjoy every last minute of it.
"The bar I went to, I think you liked it. Please come with me next time," she answered, looking at the tollkeeper with a small glimmer in both her eyes.
"Of course, my dear Elly I would love too." Tollkeeper responded with great enthusiasm. It was indeed a rare occasion for the guardian to invite her partner to hang out; usually it was him trying to get her to open up and see what life has to offer.
Elyn, as he explained to Lillian, was his favorite person; it was something about her presence that made him love being around her the most. Ten years ago, admittedly, TollKeeper only saw the young one as a task he had to complete for the Old Ones. After all, it was his duty to serve his masters.
"This one is special, Naaririel; we have big plans for her."
Over time, as he watched her grow from a somewhat stubborn, bratty child to someone who was still a tad bit stubborn, Elyn had a certain charm to her that drew him to the young guardian. How underneath her seemingly grumpy exterior was perhaps a very kind soul.
"Get some sleep, Elyn." TollKeeper said he was still admiring the view. Before meeting Elyn, a sunset, blueberries, books, and other human knick-knacks wouldn’t have intrigued him as much, but he loved the life he was gaining with these wonderful humans.
"You sound like a parent." Elyn said jokingly, seeing the normally hyperactive figure calm and collected for once.
"A parent, huh?" he muttered, summoning a portal just big enough for Elyn to walk through.
Making sure that she was completely through, Naaririel closed the portal and took his mask off. Placing the item on the floor, Naaririel wanted to bask in the warmth of the sun for just a bit longer. Closing his eyes with a smile on his face. It was a good day; the train was running right on schedule, and from what Elyn told him about Mica, Naaririel was highly looking forward to Mica and the various gadgets and gizmos the city was known for.
Naaririel continued to admire the view in front of him. Closing his eyes and feeling the warmth of the sun, Naaririel smiled. Like Elyn, he too looked forward to witnessing the beginning of a new day.
The sudden flickering of a blue light appeared as a lone orb flutters excitedly around the figure.
"Hello little one." Naaririel greeted.
The orb made its way to Naaririel's right shoulder, almost as if it wanted to watch the view with him.
"Did you come to watch too?" he asked. The orb flickered brightly as it answered yes to the tollkeeper’s question.
