I’m finally piecing together some about how the “magic system” for Vail works too! At least a little. I think. It’s fun to figure out!
So it’s kinda like reality warping I think. People’ve made technology that can convert it for basic harnessable energy for heat and power. Some humans like Martyrs naturally generate it and are attuned that they can subconsciously apply it to different effects. Others like the Pontiff and the Blessed Ones, and apparently, potentially, Fiadh, have a much more intrinsic connection to it and can use it to simply alter reality in some way like creating towers, rather than in just one way like flying or the abilities the Tower martyrs can do. And I’m guessing since the Shaitan character here had some past with the comet/the Daera, it can use Fiadh’s connection without any trouble like the Pontiff did
