Aiden's POV
Oh.
My.
God.
That is not what I thought I would see.
I walk into the room to see intricate paintings and graffiti all over. And it wasn't the regular graffiti with bubble letters and words you couldn't understand.
No,
It was realistic, artistic, and expressive.
It was beautiful.
I walked even further into the room to bask in the amazing art I was laying my eyes on. The room was white I am guessing. It was now covered in spray paint. Half-finished canvasses were standing up all throughout the room, yet I still couldn't believe that Aaron had something so beautiful in his room.
But I didn't have to.
Aaron barged into the room looking as if someone just called his mom a thot. And trust me, guys can get pissed if you call their mom a thot.
"What the heck are you doing in here?" Aaron snarled at me.
"I-i didn't . . . I . . . " I stuttered.
I was at a loss for words. The fact that I snuck into his secret room wasn't the reason I was stuttering. Oh No. No the reason I was stuttering was because of the way he looked at me. He was scaring me more than I thought he would and I wanted the feeling to stop. Now.
"What gave you the right to rummage through someone else's room, taking someone else's key, and letting yourself into someone else's private room? 'Cause I would love to know!" Aaron sarcastically spat at me.
He was mad at me.
I had to at least try to explain myself.
"Aaron stop for a second ok? I-I didn't mean to upset you Ok!? I do this all the time. I let my curiosity get the best of me and I do shit like this. I just wanted to know what you were hiding and now I don't know why you are hiding it!" I gasped in a large intake of air before rushing through my words again. "I mean this is amazing, you are amazing. Maybe you didn't want me to see and for that I am sorry but I am glad I got to see this. And if I get in trouble for it then fine as long as I get to come back and see this then I will take any punishment."
I ended my rant panting. I can't believe that I told him all that. But now that I think about it I meant every word.
I looked up at Aaron for some sort of reaction. To my surprise, he was looking down at me, a bashful expression on his face, completely shocked and blushing hard.
"Are, are you serious?" Aaron asked wearing a look of disbelief.
"Of course," I answered. "And I meant every word."
Aaron walked past me, running his hand through his hair, and shaking his head.
"You think I'm good?" he asked turning around to show the smile coming onto his lips along with the disbelief that still lingered.
"Yeah, I really like that one picture over there," I said pointing to a painting resting on a wall of a stream surrounded by trees.
"Yeah, that's one of my favorites," Aaron told me. He looked back at me and gave me a soft smile. I grinned back.
Something caught my eye and I turned to see a bundle of canvases.
"Hey what are those?" I asked pointing to the pile of pictures.
"Oh you wanna' see?" He asked eagerly. His eyes seemed to gain a new energy and the feeling seemed contagious as I felt it myself.
"Yeah." I nodded quickly, an excited look entering my eyes. He picked up the pile, took a canvas, and showed me the picture, explaining what made him paint it as well as his feelings while he painted it before I took out my phone to take a picture.
"What are you doing?" He questioned cautiously. It dawned on me that he might not be comfortable with me possibly sharing his art and I went to speak.
"I am taking a picture," I explained. "I can take a picture, right? Or are you not comfortable with that."
"I don't know, I'm not really sure." He shifted his eyes away from me and thought for a moment. "You're not going to show anyone are you?" He asked hesitantly.
"Of course not! Not unless you say I can." I assured quickly. I was truly honest and he seemed to see that.
"Ok."
"Ok, what?" I asked, my head tilting slightly.
"Ok, you can take a picture." He said with a chuckle.
I smiled at that and took a picture.
~~~
We spent another hour talking about his pictures, ourselves, and anything else that came into the conversation before we heard someone yell from downstairs.
"Time For Dinner!"
"Time to go." Aaron simply said.
"Alright." I sighed disappointedly.
We left his secret room and I gave him the key so he could lock it again. Once I was completely in his room I went to one of his couches putting my things away as I got ready to leave.
We left his room going down the beautiful staircase toward the dining room.
I may as well greet his family before I go. I thought while Aaron and I entered the dining room.
We walk into the dining room to see a long dining table with nine seats. A chandelier was hanging from the ceiling, dangling over the top of the center of the table. I look away from the chandelier to see three people sitting down.
At the end of the table was a man who looked to be in his late 40s, he had jet-black hair and a beard covering his face, though it was not long it was thick and no uneven patches of skin could be seen. That observation had me thinking of my previous pitiful attempts at facial hair, I almost shuddered at the thought. Two seats away from him was Meaghan sitting comfortably in what I guessed to be her pajamas. She was texting on her phone and didn't notice that Aaron and I had walked into the room.
Next to her was a boy who looked to be in middle school, he had brown hair like Aaron and Meaghan though it was cut in a very childlike style that was shaved at the sides giving him a little fauxhawk. He was wearing a plain white tee shirt and was playing a game on his phone.
"I'm here, I'm here!" Said a girl who came running into the dining room. She had brown hair like her siblings but halfway down it blended into a blond, making her hair an ombre. She was wearing a blue tank top and matching blue pajama pants that went down to her ankles.
"You don't have to yell," Aaron, who was now sitting down, chided gently.
"Well sorry." The girl sassed, clearly just annoyed with Aaron.
"Hey, who are you?" The girl asked as she sat down, now acknowledging my existence.
"Who are you talking t-," The boy started, cutting himself off when he followed her eyes and noticed me. "Oh, yeah she's right, who are you?"
I was a little surprised by how blunt they appeared to be but tried not to let it show on my face.
"You guys, that's rude," Meaghan scolded sternly after realizing who they were talking to.
"Meaghan is right, you can not talk to people like that," said the man who I assumed to be their father.
"Sorry," mumbled the twins.
"Ok! Here comes the chicken!" A woman sang as she walked into the dining room holding a large pan which I assume was filled with chicken.
"Oh hello, who might you be?" The woman asked after placing the pan down in the middle of the table to turn towards me.
"Oh, h-hi I'm Aiden, I . . . " I said stuttering. God, I was so nervous.
"Mama, this is Aiden from school. He is here doing a project with Aaron and has been here since 3:35 working on it with him." Meaghan answered for me. Saving me from trying to get any words past my confused tongue.
I would have to thank her later.
"Oh really," Their father grinned in pleasant surprise. "Well, nice to meet you Aiden."
He put his hand out for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you too sir," I replied politely shaking his hand.
"Well then I should introduce myself," He said as he started to introduce himself. "I am Matthew Tyler but you can just call me Matt. This is my wife, Tania," He said gesturing to his wife. "And you already know Aaron and Meaghan so then there are the twins Mark and Jasmine."
"Nice to meet you," Mark said as he got up shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you," I replied back.
I did the same before everyone sat down except for me.
"Aren't you going to sit down?" Tania asked looking confused since I hadn't taken a seat.
"Well, I have to go home since you guys are going to eat dinner," I answered.
"Nonsense! You must eat with us." Matt said making sure to show that he was upset by my decision.
"No really I-"
"I insist," Matt said shutting me right up.
If they insist then I guess I can stay, plus I get free chicken so it's a win-win for me.
I sat down next to Aaron so that if needed I could tell him if I wanted to leave. His family seemed nice enough at first meeting but I might change my mind later.
Tania brought the rest of the food in and sat down on the other side of her husband, next to Aaron.
"Alright now that everyone is here we can start eating," Tania stated putting her hands together. "Please join me in prayer."
I put my hands together as everyone else did at the table. Tania prayed for the food, everyone's safety, and that everyone at the table was happy. It was sweet.
"Ok, today we have Fried CHICKEN!" Tania exclaimed as she took the tin foil off of the pan letting the delicious chicken smells fill the air.
Everyone at the table whooped and hollered, clearly happy that their mother made fried chicken.
"Ok two pieces each," Tania announced. "Aiden would you like some fried rice with your chicken or just chicken?"
"Fried rice please" I answered in a high chirp, now sounding like a child.
"Ok, Aaron can you serve Aiden," Tania said now looking at Aaron.
"Sure." Aaron agreed quietly. He served me a big plate of fried rice and chicken. It looked delicious and I couldn't wait to try it. I got my fork bringing it up to my mouth eating some of the fried rice. Wow, it was amazing! I thought happily. I started stuffing my face with fried rice trying not to be impolite but wanting to enjoy the food fully.
"Mmmh . . . " I mumbled as I couldn't hold in how tasty the food was.
"It's good isn't it," I heard Aaron whisper in my ear. He sounded like he found my reaction amusing but I didn't mind one bit. All I could manage was a head nod and I continued to eat.
Soon a song that I guess was in Spanish started to play.
"Ah! I love this song," Tania exclaimed as she started to sway in her seat. "Mi amor por ella ardía tan, profundo que no sarbía qué hacer. Pero que mi llevó a, una nueva vida y, que la vida es mi paridise..."
"Matt dance with me!" Tania boomed dramatically. She reached out her hand for her husband to take.
Matt chuckled at his wife's demand but took her hand. They started to dance a simple two-step before they started getting fancy, doing turns and spins making them look like they were dancing professionally.
Aaron and Meaghan were whistling while Mark and Jasmine were clapping their hands to the beat.
"DAD DO THE THE HOOKER!" Meaghan hollered.
After a few more steps Matt spun Tania to his left while holding both her hands before he spun her back pulling her arms up. She kept her arms flexed so that when he lifted her arms up he would lift her. With that, she swung her left leg onto his right as he was in a lunge to keep her in place. She then lifted up her right leg as it was in between them until her toe pointed up to the ceiling.
"Wow," I whispered adoringly.
She got off her husband only to spin in his hand and drop down into the splits. He danced a full circle around her before picking her up as he dipped her fiercely staying there for a moment to indicate that that was their last move.
We all broke into applause.
"T-that was amazing Tania how did you do that!?" I asked excitedly. My mind was going over their performance over and over again and to say that I was impressed would be a huge understatement.
"Oh, Meaghan and Aaron haven't told you yet?" She asked a hint of surprise in her voice.
"Told me what?" I questioned, I looked back at Aaron but he just smiled and shook his head.
"Mama and Dad are each half Spanish," Meaghan told me with a smile.
"They met at a Latin dance studio and won several competitions over the years," Aaron explained.
"Actually all of the kids are at the professional level but none of them seemed to like dancing enough," Matt said.
"Hey, I still like dancing." Mark disagreed. "I'm just more into Hip-Hop."
Everyone stared at Mark for a second before continuing with the conversation while Mark huffed in annoyance.
"Wait you mean Aaron can dance like that?" I asked enthusiastically. My eyes once again went to Aaron and the prospect of seeing him dance was gold at that point.
"Well, I don't think I am as good but.." Aaron started warningly.
"Show me!" I interrupted excitedly.
"What?" He was taken aback by my comment but I just ignored that.
"I said show me, with Meaghan. She can dance too right?" I asked hoping he would say yes. I really want to see him dance.
"Ok!" Meaghan agreed, standing up and walking over to the empty space in the room.
Aaron let out a sigh and got up reluctantly. Aaron and Meaghan stood in front of each other getting ready to start.
Once the next song started they sprung into action taking each other's hands and doing a two-step swaying their hips from side to side. After just a few steps they started two spin each other switching with each step they then started to turn their whole bodies spinning around the room. After a few more moves Aaron brought Meaghan to his chest lifting up his right hand while still holding her left they each put out a foot behind them as they went into their final positions.
I clapped excitedly. Wow, that was amazing.
"You guys, that was amazing!" I complimented them, fawning over their performance.
"Thanks." Meaghan smiled, waving her hand at my compliment.
After all of the excitement, I had to go home. It was getting pretty late and with school tomorrow my mom would not take me being late. We walked down one of the hallways towards the door, our feet moving slowly as if to draw out the moment. Once Aaron opened the door I saw that we were in the garage. It was filled to the brink with expensive, exquisite-looking cars. We surprisingly were driving in the cheapest one which was Aaron's Ferrari.
We exited the garage and were soon on the road.
"Thank you for taking me to your house Aaron, I had a lot of fun," I told Aaron sincerely after a few minutes of driving.
"No problem." He replied simply, still focusing on the road.
I told him my address after that and in a few minutes, I was home. I went to open the door to get out of the car but he grabbed my hand stopping any movement. I turned around to ask him why he was grabbing my hand but he stopped me by crashing his lips on mine.
What The Fuck!?
