As I walked up to the school I felt half excited half nervous. Excited because I could talk to Meaghan, Ethan, and Scarlett without feeling as awkward as before. Nervous because I would have to talk with Aaron today and I still had to go to his house, which I would have to do every day for the next month and a half.
Great.
I walked into the school and instead of going to my locker I went towards Ethan's. I wanted to see him so I would just head to my locker afterward. I saw Scarlett standing next to Ethan at his locker. I felt a small smile settle onto my face because I was pleasantly surprised. The girl I was in love with is good friends with my best friend. What guy wouldn't want that?
"Hey, guys!" I smile widely, coming to stand in front of the two.
"Oh hey, Aiden how what's up," Scarlett asked warmly. I felt that feeling in my stomach again and wanted to cheer. I still liked her.
I was still straight
I shook off the thought and came back to focus on the conversation.
"Hey, Aiden," Ethan said, a small smile resting on his face. "Do you have time tonight?"
I thought for a moment and was going to tell him yes until I remembered my commitment.
"No, I am going to be at Aaron's," I told him.
"Really? Why?" Ethan asked surprised that we were so close.
"We have a project together," I explained, tagging on "Mr. Baldwin."
"Oh," he muttered, a hint of understanding setting in. He had Mr. Baldwin from a different period and knows how he is with projects and partners.
"Well anyway-" I was cut off by someone slamming into my back.
"Why Aiden!" Meaghan smiled happily as she saw that I was in pain from her sudden attack on my back.
"Hey, Meaghan," I greeted back, still happy to see her.
"Hey, Meaghan!" Scarlett beamed excitedly, going over to hug Meaghan just as she let go of me. "How are you?"
"I'm good Scarlett, I'm just sad that Aaron hasn't brought you by lately," Meaghan said to Scarlett as they started a conversation.
"Yeah well we have been busy but it's all good with me. I'll make sure to insist one of these days," Scarlett assured Meaghan with a wink.
"Hey," Ethan bud in, finally introducing himself. "I'm Ethan." Meaghan stopped for a second to look at Ethan.
Though I don't mention it. Ethan is a very handsome guy. He gets confessions twice a week at a minimum and girls are always checking him out.
"Meaghan," she said as she put her hand out to shake Ethan's.
By the way, she looked at him I guessed that she liked him. But it wasn't like a new thing. No, she looked as if she has had feelings for him for a while and I was kind of hoping that this would work out.
They shook hands and after the introductions, we talked until the bell rang telling us to get to class.
We parted ways with Meaghan and eventually with Scarlett too since she had a different class.
We walked into class a minute before the teacher came and then I was in student mode so I tuned out all other thoughts.
Including the ones that said that Aaron was standing outside of the class . . .
Staring at me?

The week went by quickly. With me studying and going to Meaghan's house after school it became a routine almost like an after-school program if you may. A few times I have even stayed for dinner since I cannot resist such good food, even if my mom is a great cook I still love Aar- Meaghan's mom's cooking so I enjoy staying for dinner and talking.
But now it is Friday so I will have to wait until the week starts to get a chance to eat their mom's cooking again.
I was currently sitting in the cafeteria and waiting for everyone else to get to the table. I had arrived earlier today and now have to eat by myself until everyone else finally joins me.
"Hey, Aiden!" I heard from behind me. I turned and saw Meaghan and River walking over to me, Meaghan with her lunch bag and River with a tray of food.
"Oh hey Meaghan, hey River."
"Hey," says River as he sits down next to me.
Oh, I must have forgotten to tell you. During the week this guy named River met Meaghan while they were both signing up for photography club and they became friends instantly. The next day she introduced him to us and now our little group of friends has gotten even bigger.
"Oh, there's Scarlett and Ethan," Meaghan says right before she sits down across from me and River.
"Hey, guys," Ethan says as he goes to sit on my other side.
Ethan looks just fine but Scarlett is a little bouncy as she sits down with a huge smile on her face.
"What's got you so happy?" I ask Scarlett.
"The thing that we're doing today," Scarlett told me.
"What thing?" Meaghan asks, looking between all of us in confusion.
"Well, I don't know for sure so you will have to ask Aiden," Scarlett explained to Meaghan.
"What thing?" River now asks me.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I told all of them. I couldn't remember what Scarlett was talking about.
"Oh come on, Ethan was even there when you asked me," Scarlett said. "Right, Ethan?"
"Yeah, I can't believe you don't remember," Ethan agreed, looking back at me as if I were crazy.
"No, he has to know. What is the thing Scarlett is talking about?" Meaghan asked as she started to get impatient with me.
"Wait just give me a second," I said. Ok, so what time did I ask Scarlett to do something while Ethan wa-.
Wait.
Oh my god.
How could I forget?
It was when I asked Scarlett to hang out thinking I could get her to fall in love with me.
Wait.
Do I want her to fall in love with me?
I sat there for a little bit thinking over the week.
In the beginning, I wanted nothing more than to be with Scarlett. But now that I have become her friend I realize that 'that' is not what I wanted. I really enjoy being friends a lot more then I think I would with us being a couple so, No.
I don't want her to fall in love with me.
A smile came on to my face as I thought about it and I felt a little lighter when I came to the realization and I decided that I knew what that thing was.
"I got it!" I said enthusiastically, hyping it up even further with my energy.
"I have an aunt that bought four rooms of a really expensive cottage," I started to tell them. "And since it's winter not as many people come so when all the rooms are free we get to go to the cottage to relax and stuff. Since it's the weekend I wanted to invite you guys to come."
"What?" Meaghan asked surprised.
"Are you serious?" Ethan continued.
"Yup, the rooms can hold three people in each minus the couch bed and the beds themselves can be shared for two people but I don't think we have a big enough group," I told them getting them even more excited.
"What!? No way! That is awesome!" Ethan exclaimed.
I wasn't lying about the aunt and the rooms. My family was going to go to the Deerhurst cottage and since we always use only one room I thought that this was a perfect idea.
"So there is Ethan, Meaghan, Scarlett, River, and Aaron. Anyone else you guys wanna invite?" I asked.
"Oh, my friends Courtney and Rachel might want to come," Scarlett said.
"Oh, Mark and Jasmine should come since they know Mason right?" Ethan commented.
"Oh yeah, that would be perfect!" Meaghan squealed.
"But I want to bring my friend Chris," Aaron sai-.
"Wait what are you doing here? When did you even get here?" I asked after I jumped from the shock that Aaron gave me.
"I was here since they were asking you about a thing," Aaron answered. "And I still want to know about my friend Chris."
"It's fine altogether the rooms can fit twenty-one and I can just sleep in the room my family is- never mind one of you can sleep in the room my family is in, I can't leave you guys alone."
"So we can all go?" Meaghan asked.
"Yup."
"Yes!" River exclaimed and everyone turned to look at him.
"Oh sorry, I thought that if there wasn't enough space you guys would go without me," River said as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
Everyone continued on to tell River that he was being ridiculous and we all ended up talking about the trip and other random things.
Though I would have to ask my parents, we were all going to Muskoka for the Weekend.
I can not wait.
