The day so far has been quite eventful. It was crazy to think of all the things that happened in less than twenty-four hours. I was making my way back to the dorms, tense and waiting, just in case Dipi or Orlando popped up all of a sudden and I wasn't ready to run. I found myself in the lounge room again seeing all the activities that were still going on. I slowly made my way past the group, heading towards my room.
I was pretty drained and just trudged my way down the hall until I remembered the roommates that were probably in the room. I took in a deep breath. The new student registration period was for about a week in the fall but the three of us exchanged a couple of messages online so I knew they were also planning on coming today. I sighed.
I have to just get this over with and there was no time to be nervous now. I walked with a new determination in my step quickly finding myself in front of our room door.
I stared at the doorknob, probably for five minutes longer than necessary, and finally opened the door. They were seated on their beds, knees almost touching as they spoke to each other. Their eyes were wide and they seemed to be completely invested in their conversation.
"You asshat!"
That surprised me.
At first glance, it seemed as if they were happy, excited to be talking to each other.
I was probably wrong.
"How dare you say that Twice is better than Red Velvet?!" One of them said. I took in his appearance. He had tanned skin and dark thick wavy hair swept out of his face in a young Justin Bieber do. He had a young boyish face and round eyes that drew all of your attention straight to the chocolate-brown orbs.
I soon gathered that he was Warlo. He had told us online that he was eighteen turning nineteen in a couple of weeks and was half Filipino and half Japanese and had moved with his family to America three years before he was excepted. He also mentioned that he was a Vampire so the green undertone, a common tell for Vampires made sense.
He looked more Filipino than I had expected but his Japanese heritage was still clearly visible. The thing that surprised me the most was how outraged he sounded. He had seemed like a real sweetheart online but man could he yell.
"Red Velvet is great, I can admit that. But Twice has the best songs, great adorable choreography, and have you seen Mina?!" My other roommate Nick, the Feii, argued.
Warlo almost tugged his hair out in frustration.
"Have you seen Peek-a-boo? Or Ice cream cake? Or Russian Roulette? Do you even have a soul?!" Warlo yelled.
"Yes!" Nick answered. "And it lives and breaths for Twice!"
Warlo groaned out loud at Nick's confession of his love.
"You don't even-" Warlo started but was cut short.
"Uhh . . . " I trailed off. I had quite a few friends who were into Kpop but they never got this intense and were never adult males who looked ready to fight to the death for their beloved groups.
It was just an awkward time to have walked in. They snapped their heads in my direction, momentarily taking the fire of their groups being threatened away from the other and over to me. But then they realized what was happening.
"Oh shit you must be Sebastian," Nick reacted first, coming over to shake my hand. "I'm Nick if you didn't know yet. And obviously he," Nick unwillingly had a hint of disdain in his voice as he said the name. "Is Warlo."
Warlo shot Nick a glare before turning his gaze back to me and giving me a beaming smile.
"It's great to finally meet you in person." Warlo made his way over to us to shake my hand as well.
"Same for the both of you," I smiled back. "I just didn't realize it would be while the two of you preached for your favorite groups."
They both seemed slightly embarrassed about that and I felt my grin stretch even wider.
"Yeah, we were just talking and getting to know each other when I asked if he knew about Kpop and then this happened," Nick explained. "I really do like Red Velvet but I like Twice better."
Warlo was visibly tense and about to burst, but for my sake somehow held his tongue. I wasn't in the mood for any more fighting and instead changed the subject.
"Did you guys check out the patio yet?" I hurried over to the door, excited to see the amazing view again.
"What patio?" Warlo asked, looking to Nick for an answer but Nick shook his head.
"Don't know."
And we were onto a great night from there.

The early new student club fair happened a couple of days later and that was one of the only school-related things I actually did for about a week. Sure I had to collect some textbooks and information about the campus but apart from that I was on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Then there was the man.
The mystery guy who let me know nothing about him but his voice.
Once I had gotten a good night's rest I was convinced that it was just a momentary rush of emotion out of nowhere.
It was irrational and weird and would not happen again.
Then I met him again.
And it was the realest thing I had ever experienced in my life.
Something was definitely wrong with me but anytime I was in his presence this, feeling always came and it was driving me nuts not being able to see him.
We ended up meeting three times this past week and the second time we did I ended up talking to him too.
I told him as much about myself as I could, figuring that if I couldn't know him, he would at least know me.
He also seemed to talk about himself a little bit more as well. Bits of information would slip out.
His hometown
His favorite color
His dogs name
If I were to tell someone after talking to someone for the week that was all I knew, not even able to add their name or age they would fall onto the floor in hysterics. But those three facts were enough to get me absolutely smitten.
Just hearing the way he spoke was enough and it became blatantly obvious.
I was in love with a complete stranger.
