“So, a reaper rises from the ashes. We knew it was only a matter of time,” the floating lady smugly said.
Skylar, shrouded in immense energy, approaches the phantom without fear. She looks up at her with eyes illuminating burning red, clutching the scythe firmly.
“Are you angry? I know where you got that power from. The Bloodrage trait. The last reaper died from it,” the floating lady said while she descended. Her burnt bare feet left marks on the floor she stood on.
She starts to walk around Skylar as if examining her, looking at her from top to bottom. She snickers which builds up to a laugh and says, “Look at you, you’re being saved by that barbaric ability. Which means you aren’t even close to being a full reaper.”
“Your words mean nothing, phantom. Your soul shall be claimed by the scythe, and you shall be erased out of existence,” Skylar says with an unusually different voice.
“You dare speak vulgarly to Firestorm, child? I shall let you know the burning pain of my suffering!” The lady becomes ignited in flames. She starts to levitate once again while her hair disintegrates. Fire shoots out from the top of her head, and she lets out a loud, deafening scream— Skylar stands in front of her; emotionless, unfazed.
Firestorm opens her palms as embers start churning out of them building up to a ball. She starts flinging the burning orbs around Skylar, trying to get a reaction, but Skylar continues to look toward her, unfazed. The floating lady’s temper starts to flare even further.
“Compared to the last, you’re far more irritating. The previous one at least had a blabbering mouth to keep us entertained,” the floating lady says as her eyes start to burn out of rage.
She zooms toward Skylar like a burning meteor across the sky. Skylar dashed closer to her, taking her head-on. She used the blunt side of the scythe to swipe her away mid-air, causing Firestorm to hit the floor, making a huge crater upon impact.
Skylar menacingly walks closer to Firestorm; her demeanor remains the same.
“Surrender your soul, phantom,” Skylar said.
“You…” Firestorm said as her body was wholly engulfed in flames, transforming her into a fire-like being.
Firestorm screams as a heat wave blasts through the area, incinerating most of the library. As the flames touched Skylar’s skin, it turned into vapor, unharming Skylar in any way.
Firestorm shoots like a rocket, she plans to hit Skylar with all her might. Skylar pulls her out of the air, tightly clutching Firestorm by the hair.
Skylar pulls Firestorm closer and pierces her in the chest; clutching her heart. Skylar absorbs all the fire imbued on Firestorm. Firestorm starts to power down bringing her back to her ragged and burnt clothes as she falls knee-first to the ground.
“Phantom, it is the time for your final judgement. Look back upon your existence and realize how you have made use of your time,” Skylar said.
Firestorm suddenly glows a bright-white aura. A large circle appears beneath her along with runic symbols. Her heart starts beating faster as she is pulled into her memories of the past.
