For the next couple of minutes, they all looked through the costumes, partially looking for themselves but mainly looking for costumes for Oakley. At some point, Cole found a sexy Firefighter costume. It had the firefighter jacket, pants, and bright red suspenders, but it had no shirt and Oakley would be able to fully show off his abs. Cole mentioned that Oakley could wear it with the jacket left open or without the jacket at all. Oakley fell in love with it and after trying it on and finding out that it fit him perfectly, the rest of them were able to focus on finding costumes for themselves.
They got bored at some point while they were searching and as they looked through costumes, they all started talking. During that time, Oscar found a costume that had shorts and he suggested it to Cole, thinking that it would look perfect on him.
"Nah, I'm not really into that Oscar, but thank you for suggesting it," Cole told him in his extremely polite way of saying no. Oscar frowned.
"Why not? Haven't you been working out with Kyle lately? You are already starting to look so toned, why not show it off a bit?" Oscar said.
Cole blushed and Kyle felt a jump in his stomach. It had been around three weeks since Kyle and Cole had been meeting up to help Cole and Kyle had already been noticing how Cole had been losing some weight and toning up. The biggest difference was in his legs, his calves and thighs had gained so much more definition, and Kyle—guiltily—reveled in how Cole had somehow started to look even sexier with a more defined body, Kyle had been in heaven and hell at the same time every day that he worked out with Cole. Cole shook his head several times and let out a nervous chuckle.
"No, you're probably just imagining it. I haven't changed since Kyle and I started." Cole said, denying Oscar's compliment.
"You must be completely blind then," Neal added while he continued to sift through costumes. "Oh, this is a girl's" He mumbled midway through his words. "Your body, especially those legs of yours, have gotten so toned. I thought that maybe Kyle got you into lunging."
Kyle laughed while Cole blushed harder.
"No, I did do a lot of leg workouts with him, and they seem to be paying off a lot. Huh, Cole?" Kyle smiled down at Cole who was beet red and had his head tucked into his chest.
They laughed at his reaction for a moment before Oscar spoke again.
"You should really consider wearing this costume, Cole." Oscar stepped a little closer to Cole, urging him to agree. "You need to wear something to show off those legs."
Kyle frowned, he imagined doing something extreme like punching Oscar in the face or kicking him in the dick for talking about Cole's body like that but Kyle knew that those thoughts were just his jealousy speaking. Cole tried to tuck his chin further into his chest, eventually giving up so he buried his face into his hands. He needed more protection from his teasing friends.
"Fine." Cole blurted suddenly, snatching the costume from Oscar and draping it over his arm.
"Wait, legs!" Neal yelled, his eyes narrowing as he stared down at the floor and stroked his chin. Neal was clearly thinking and Kyle wondered why his friend was putting on his most dramatic thinking face. Then, Neal's face suddenly lit up and he raised his right finger in triumph, letting out a loud "Ah hah!". He looked at his fave friends who were staring at him with different looks of confusion and intense judgment. Neal wanted to chuckle at their faces but knew that the act would just make him look even crazier, so he settled for yelling some more. "All of you, wait right here!"
Kyle watched his best friend scramble away with mild concern and a whole lot of curiosity, Kyle wondered what Neal had thought of now. Cole glanced up at Kyle. Kyle had a small smile on his face and the expression made Cole smile too. Cole was always a little happier when he saw Kyle and thought that the feeling must be the feeling of comfort because Cole finally felt what it was like to have a trustworthy friend again. Although many people talked about high school as if it were a nightmare, being in high school, Cole was able to make friends faster than he ever had before, and he had little fear that they would suddenly drop him like some of his past "friends" had.
At that moment, Kyle, like usual, looked at Cole but was surprised to find Cole looking at him as well. Cole sent Kyle a gentle smile and Kyle did his best to return it. The two were still looking at each other when Neal came running back. Neal was holding two bigger packages and a couple of smaller ones. He dumped all of the stuff at the feet of the four other boys and quickly rushed out, "Give me a second" before he ran away again.
Kyle watched as Oakley bent down to look at what Neal had gotten. The first thing that all four boys saw first was the pink leotard.
"What . . . ?" Oakley mumbled, immensely confused by Neal's choice. He moved the package that had the leotard and they saw the one holding the pink tutu.
"Oh no-" Kyle was only able to start moaning out his complaints when Neal came running back with pink ballet flats.
Neal was grinning widely while the rest of them had mixed reactions. Kyle was shocked and slightly disturbed by the mental image of Neal in a leotard, dressed as a ballerina. Oscar was snickering from behind him, he found the whole situation amusing and was enjoying Neal's choice. Cole seemed a little bit excited and looked as if he was very ready to see Neal try it on. And Oakley looked, slightly turned on? He seemed way too eager to have Neal show off his legs and Kyle wondered if they were on the different boats, or swinging their dick bats for the same team.
"Go try it on!" Cole urged, picking up Neal's items and throwing them at Neal. Neal caught them with a bit of struggle and ran off to the dressing room. Kyle nudged Cole's shoulder and when Cole looked at him, nodded his own head towards the changing rooms.
"Go and try on the costume that Oscar chose for you, you have to make sure that it fits." Kyle smiled when Cole faintly blushed and continued to smile the entire time that Cole was walking away from him.
"I really ship it." Oscar suddenly said, causing Kyle to abruptly turn around and address him with narrowed confused eyes.
"What? What are you talking about?" Kyle asked, making sure to keep his questions more vague and neutral.
"You totally have a crush on Cole don't you," Oakley replied for his twin brother, stepping forward and shrugging. "It's pretty obvious you know, Kyle. If you wanted to be secretive about it, you shouldn't have been sending Cole puppy dog eyes the entire time that we have been here." Kyle felt his cheeks heat up despite his wishes and sighed.
"Don't tell Cole anything. I would have liked for you guys to not have known but now that you do, you better not get in my business." Kyle threatened, glaring at the two twins even though they both continued to wear their easy smiles.
"Relax Kyle," Oscar grinned, throwing his arm over Kyle's shoulder. "We won't talk about it to anyone except for Neal, he already figured it out didn't he?" Kyle wanted to disagree but didn't since Oscar was right. "Thought so. Don't worry about it though, just now that my brother and I support you and totally hope to see your boat of love and hot gay sex sail across the PacifDick and-"
"I swear to god if you make a butt joke." Kyle interrupted, his cheeks burning at this point.
"I was actually going to say, 'and doesn't get sunken by the iceberg of straight.’” Oscar told him. Kyle was quite impressed with how PG that was and let out a small smile. "And that you will find an island, secluded from the bigot world because it is in the Bermuda Trifuckingle, and that you will make a large, beautiful asshut and drink CocAnus water from real CocAnuses every day right before the two of you make love—"
Kyle used both of my hands to push Oscar as hard as he could but that didn't stop him and his twin from laughing their asses off. At that moment, Cole and Neal walked back over to them. Kyle's eyes immediately went to Cole, his eyes widened as he saw more of Cole's thigh than he had ever before. Cole was wearing a classic sexy police officer costume, the costume had dark navy blue shorts that stopped a good amount above Cole's mid-thigh, a tight matching navy blue shirt that was unbuttoned until Cole's chest ended and his stomach began, and a cute police officer hat that was tilted on Cole's head of bright red hair.
Kyle was in deep shit.
He opened his mouth to say something to compliment Cole, but instead of the perfect and most appropriate line that Kyle could come up with spilling out of his mouth with a suave and cool that he imagined he possessed, Oakley was laughing as loud as he could.
Kyle wanted to make him shut up for mocking Cole but when he moved his gaze just slightly to the left of Cole and looked at his best friend, he realized the real reason why Oakley, and now Oscar, was laughing.
Neal now wore the pink leotard, and the pink tutu, as well as some sparkly beaded hair ties that held his hair up in two short ponytails, and the final touch, the pink slippers, that kept the entire theme alive.
Kyle first let out an abrupt and sharp snort before he was belly laughing like the rest of his friends. Neal didn't play any sports at school but he was a diligent karate student and that added to his naturally broad shoulders made his outfit seem even funnier than it already would have. And Neal did not stop slouching or letting his stomach stretch out, nor did he stop walking with his feet moving wide apart. The entire thing was just so funny to look at that the entire group was laughing for over five minutes.
"Wa-wa-wait, guys," Neal said, his voice serious and hard. "I have an important question." Neal suddenly turned around and looked over his shoulder as if he were staring at his butt. "Does this leotard make me look fat?"
They laughed until they cried after that.
