The night of his birth, Raziel and his parents were able to leave the hospital and head home. Thanks to the medical advancements of this world, childbirth was a rather quick and painless process and newborns could go home the day of their birth if there were no complications. Raziel was perfectly healthy, therefore he was sent home that night.
As Raziel was carried through the hospital, looking at the stone and wooden architecture, along with the people wearing robes and such, he had the feeling he wasn't living during the same time where he once was. 'I guess I'm not in 2023 anymore...'
And that he wasn't. This fact would be all the more clear once he was carried outside, seeing his new world for the first time. 'Holy shit.'
As they exited the hospital, Raziel could see the beautiful architecture of his new homeland, the city of Zionostra. The buildings were all made of beautiful stone, looking straight out of a fantasy movie. The roofing had pointed tips of various colors, including blues, greens, and gold.
Along the streets were tall lamps and stone statues, each one having the armor and weapons of a warrior. The names of each warrior were written beneath their statue, each being a war hero from the past.
Above the city, platforms were floating in the sky, being held up by seemingly nothing. These platforms housed other buildings of the same style, along with people walking along the streets just as they were below.
Despite him being but an infant, Raziel's eyes widened. He'd never seen a world so beautiful, not even in fiction. The architecture, the lighting, the magic that was visible as it flowed through the sky like blueish clouds.
"Welcome to the world, my son." Raziels's father told him, looking down at his son with the softest of grins.
The family then began walking home, strolling past all of the things that were knocked over after the massive earthquake that had happened the moment Raziel was born. "That earthquake was rather intense, wasn't it?" the father asked, looking around at all of the minor damage.
"It was... Do you believe Lord Xod was the culprit? He's always reckless with his beast hunting, or so I've heard."
"Mm. Perhaps so. Even still, would beast hunting cause the earth to tremble with such intensity?"
"Perhaps the beast was large."
'Beast hunting?' Raziel thought to himself. He'd wished nothing more than to be able to speak and ask questions about this new world, though he could only make assumptions based on what he could hear and see. 'Like Monster Hunter?'
"Maybe so." Raziel's father spoke. "I just hope Lord Xod isn't getting himself into more trouble."
"He's Ramattra's Effigy. He'll be fine."
Raziel looked back and forth between his mother and father, his eyebrows furrowed as he appeared to be studying them. 'I see... Mhm Mhm.' Raziel thought to himself. 'I have no clue what any of that means.'
After walking out of the city and through the Zionostra woodlands, the family ended up in front of their home. It wasn't large, but it was fit perfectly for the three of them. It was entirely made of stone and wood with two windows on the bottom floor and a single window on the top floor. The door, made of wood, looked old, but still functional, having a bit of weathering on the edges. It also had a certain woody smell to it, though whether it was a good or bad smell depended on who was asked.
'I guess this is our home. Not bad for the three of us, I guess.' Raziel thought to himself as his father approached the door and placed his palm where the door handle should be, however, there wasn't one. Without so much as saying a word, Raziel's father cast a spell, and as he did so, a circular lock appeared on the door. The magical lock twisted and the door opened, allowing the three of them to head inside.
"We're home!"
As the three of them entered, Raziel could hear footsteps pittering and pattering from inside, and before long, he could see three other children who bore striking similarities to him standing in front of them.
The oldest was a girl, she looked to be around the age of just starting primary school. She had long black hair that looked as if it had been grown her whole life without being cut a single time. Her eyes were purple as well, though she had their mother's fox-like eye shape. Next to her, there was another little girl, who looked to be just a few years younger than her. She looked almost like an exact copy of her older sister, long hair and all, though her eyes were brown like her father's.
Lastly, being held by the eldest sister, there was a boy who looked to be only a couple of years old, sucking his thumb as he looked down at his new baby brother. His hair was curly, but still rather short. His eyes were brown like his father's, appearing round and curious.
'I have siblings!?' Raziel thought to himself, looking back at his brother and sisters who had been anxiously waiting for him to get home.
"Is it a boy or girl?" the younger sister asked, holding her arms up to her chest, staring at her new baby brother with excitement written all over her face.
"A boy." the dad answered, grinning rather big. He wanted another son, so he was ecstatic when Raziel was born.
"So another boy, huh." the older sister sounded a little bit disappointed that she didn't get another little sister, though she still looked down on her brother with the most loving of eyes.
"What's his name?" the second sister asked.
"It's Raziel." said the mother. "Would you like to hold him?"
Their mother then offered Raziel over to the middle sister, who then excitedly held him in her arms. With a loving touch, she rubbed Raziel's face and looked deeply into his little eyes with a gentle smile. "Hello, baby Raziel!" she whispered. "I'm your big sister, Roe."
The older sister then peered over, smiling down at Raziel as she too introduced herself. "I'm Raya. And this little guy is your big brother, Ryn."
'Roe, Raya, and Ryn.' Raziel thought to himself.
He wasn't sure how to feel about any of this. He didn't have a family before, outside of his foster parents, but he wouldn't call them his family; more like his caretakers. However, instantly this new family of his was looking at him with a love that he'd never seen before in his previous life. It felt good, somewhat, but at the same time, it felt horrifying being thrust into this new world with a new life and family.
