Two days had passed since Emi had met the new customer and it was now the time of the week where they got their shipment of baking goods such as, fresh eggs, milk, flour, sugar etc. 

"Oi Emi, Imma handle the unpacking of the shipment of goods" Shinjiro said as he headed out the front door of the bakery.

She sprinted over to him in a hurry, "Are you sure Shinjiro-san?? I can do it like I do every week-" she said to him and he shook his head.

"I can do it, don't worry about it Emi you have been working hard, the shop is closed while we unpack, so go take a break" he said gently smiling at her and walked out the door.

Shinjiro headed to the area where the truck that held the goods would park so he could be there as soon as the person arrived to immediately bring the cold goods in first.

The truck arrived five minutes later, it parked and the person in the truck came out and walked over to Shinjiro

“Hello sir, I'm assuming you are Watanabe Shinijo?” The man asked him.

Shinjiro nodded, “Yes that's me”.

The man handed him a clipboard with a piece of paper, “Please sign this sir, this is for the shipment to show that you received the goods”.

He took the clipboard from the man and signed the paper and handed it back.

“Thank you sir, do you need any help with unloading the truck?” the man asked.

Shinjiro shook his head, “No thank you, I can do it on my own” he said then walked off towards the truck and the man headed back into the driver's seat.

He started to unload the boxes with the cold goods first and set them on the ground and as soon as they were all out he started grading one box at a time and taking them in and immediately unloading the cold goods into the refrigerator.

Eventually he took in and unloaded all the cold items, but as he headed out from unpacking the last produce box; he saw a man outside standing by the open trunk and walked up to him.

“Um, excuse me sir, why are you by this truck? It's holding my bakery's products..” Shinjiro asked and raised an eyebrow.

The man looked at him and smiled, “Oh why hello there, you're pretty cute, are you by chance the owner?” he said completely ignoring Shinjiro’s question.

“Yes I am, do you need anything? If not, please step aside so I can get my stuff in” he said and waited for the man to move.

He stepped aside and once Shinjiro saw this he got into the truck and started grabbing boxes and setting them on the ground.

“Is it alright if I can help you? You look as if you are struggling a little?” He said to Shinjiro as he was still in the truck but Shinjiro didn't hear him.

Shinjiro grabbed a box and once he got to the entrance of the truck the man looked at him.

“I asked you a question, did you not hear me?” He said and hoping he wasn't ignoring him.

Shinjiro stepped out and set the box down, “Oh sorry, I didn't hear you say anything” he says and points at left ear.

“I cant hear that well out of this ear and my other isn't horrible but sometimes I can't really understand what people are saying due to my hearing problem”

The man made a shocked face, “Oh I'm so sorry! I hope I didn't offend you in any way!”.

“No worries, its ok, I'm not at all offended. Well I guess seeing as you are still here I might as well introduce myself, the names Watanabe Shinjiro, yours?” he said and put out his hand.

“Im Imai Silas, I came here two days ago and the food was so tasty!” a big smile was on his face and shook Shinjiro's hand.

Shinjiro gave him a light smile, “Well thank you Silas I appreciate the compliment”.

After the handshake he took a better look at Silas, “Wait a minute, you must be the man my assistant talked about that day”.

“Oh she went and talked about me to you? She must have gone on about how much of a sexy man I am” he said with a huge smirk on his face.

Shinjiro sweatdropped at what he had just said but he was right, she did go and talk about how he was a very attractive tall man who might be an alpha.

“You are correct, she did talk about you like that. I'm assuming after she served you she ran straight in and yapped about you then even did so after work” he said with a small sigh.

Silas let out an extravagant laugh, “I'm not surprised about that at all, she was very interested in me and even where I work, maybe she has a thing for me?” he said as he still laughed but was only half joking about the last part.

“Trust me she's not into you like that” Shinjiro said and looked him dead in the eye. Silas saw this and thought about what he meant then he came to the realization of what he meant.

“Ohhh she's into women gotcha” “Anyway, what I had asked before was if i could help you unload”.

Shinjiro looked at him, “I guess, I don't really like receiving any help from anyone, especially people who may be alpha…are you an alpha?” Shinjiro’s voice had lowered a little when he asked that question.

Silas tilted his head confused as to why he was acting like that but answered calmly, “Yeah I am, I'm a dominant alpha to be exact. I can tell you are an omega but I can't tell if you are dominant or recessive.”

When Shinjiro heard his response he got very uncomfortable being near him and stepped back, “I don't need any help but thank you though, sorry”.

Silas stood there and hesitated on what to do but after a minute he spoke. “I see well I guess I will head off then, maybe we could talk another time?”

Shinjiro nodded a little, “Yeah sure, I would prefer if I had my assistants around while I talk to you as I can't trust male alphas.”

Silas nodded and was a little hurt but didn't want to make him uncomfortable, “Well it was nice meeting you Shinjiro, I'll come back tomorrow when the shop closes to see you all, goodbye now!” he smiled and walked off.  

Shinjiro watched as he walked off and let out a loud shaky sigh and calmed himself down a little and then started to pick up the boxes bringing them in one by one.

After 10 minutes, he got all the boxes in and the truck driver drove off. 

He headed into the kitchen and went straight towards them and started unboxing them but then Keiko walked in.

“Let me help you with that Shinjiro-san” she said, her voice gentle and went over to a box and opened it and started taking the contents out.

Shinjiro nodded his thanks and kept unpacking, Keiko noticed that he was acting a bit strange and seemed upset as well.

“Shinjiro-san, you seem upset…if you want you can tell me about it, that's only if you want too of course” she spoke to him while she worked on unpacking the items.

He looked at what he was doing and looked at her, “That man that Emi talked about, the one that she got all excited over was by the truck…he's an alpha yet I didn't smell any pheromones from him at all!”

She stopped and looked back at him, “Oh, I understand now, you found out he was an alpha so you got uncomfortable being around him, well you can't help that”

“I know, he seemed nice and if he is able to produce pheromones he did not release them..he may be one of the few good alphas that exist but it was still uncomfortable for me and I feel a little guilty about it, he looked hurt” his voice was unsteady.

Keiko nodded and understood how he felt as she has known him for so long and knows why he's like this around male alphas. 

He has no issue around female alphas, he actually feels comfortable around them, like Keiko who's a normal alpha. He feels safe around betas which is what Emi is, he has tried several times to get used to being around male alphas but all attempts failed.

“Shinjiro-san I think you should go home for the day, me and Emi will take it from here so don't worry about anything but if anything does happen I will be sure to call” she warmly said to him and smiled gently at him.

He nodded knowing that if he told her he was fine and didn't need to do that she would keep insisting he go home anyway no matter what he said.

“Alright I will head home then Keiko-Chan” He got up and walked straight out the kitchen and headed out the bakery.

Emi saw this as she was cleaning a table and got confused and saw Keiko walking out the kitchen.

“Keiko-Chan, why is Shinjiro-san leaving this early?” She tilted her head and was worried.

Keiko looked at her, “Oh he said he wasn't feeling well so I told him that it would be ok for him to go home for the day to rest”

Emi was still concerned about him but decided not to say anything else about it.

“Alright then, we will make sure the rest of the day goes smoothly in his place then!” she said enthusiastically with a grin on her face.

Keiko smiled and laughed a little, “That's the spirit Emi, now Imma head back into the kitchen, you keep cleaning after people leave and serving people ok?”

Emi nodded and went straight back to cleaning the table she was working on and Keiko went back to the kitchen.

The day went on like normal without Shinjiro, it ran smoothly just like Emi said they would make it in his place; when closing time came they packed everything, cleaned the place once more for the day and the two left the bakery together.
