The next day came and Shinjiro was back at the bakery in the early morning; after what happened between him and Silas he had still felt a little down but he knew he needed to go back to work. 

The bell on the front door rang and Keiko walked in and headed to the kitchen where Shinjiro was and set her bag down.

“Good morning Shinjiro-san” Keiko flashed him a warm smile.

He nodded, “Good morning Keiko-chan” he said but didn't look up from the batter he was making

Keiko saw this and walked over to him, “Are you feeling better today? Or do you still feel upset over yesterday?” she questioned him; worried for him.

“I'm fine Keiko, you don't always have to worry about me” he said and looked at her.

She sighed a little and looked worried, then she noticed a hearing aid in his left ear.

“Oh, you finally got the hearing aid? That's good! I know you have been waiting to get it so you could hear people speak better” She smiled and tried to lighten up the mood.

He smiled a little and touched it, “Yea, yesterday after I left early I ended up getting an call about them being ready so I went and got them”

Keiko ruffled his hair gently, “Well I won't bother you anymore for now, I should get started on making the bread for the day!” She then walked off, putting on an apron and tying her hair up to get started.

An hour passed and Emi finally made it to work and headed to the kitchen, “Hey guys! Oh, Shinjiro-san, you are here!” She said, yelling excitedly.

“Good morning Emi! But what have I told you about being too loud? I understand you get excited but you have to be mindful of Shinjiro-san” Keiko scolded her.

Emi looked at Shinjiro who had looked at her then back at Keiko, “Im sorry guys”

“Emi you don't need to apologize every time” He said to her calmly and then continued, “And now Emi-chan you can call out for me though or talk across the room as I have a hearing aid now” he pointed at it and smiled.

She went over to him and looked at it in his ear, “Oh so this is what they look like” Emi looked at it, extremely curious about it and smiled at him.

“Have you really never seen one before Emi-chan? You should have at least seen one in your life, you are 26 after all” he said and sweatdropped. 

She shook her head, “Nope! I have heard about them but never seen them in person, I guess not a lot of people need them.”

Keiko gave her a look when she said that, “Emi” she said in a stern tone.

Emi looked at her, “What? Did I say something wrong?” she asked genuinely not sure if she said anything that may have offended him.

“Keiko it's fine, but yes Emi-chan there are not a lot of people who need a hearing aid but sometimes people are born deaf or later in life develop hearing issues or even…” he hesitated before continuing, “Sometimes people lose hearing from accidents.”

Keiko looked at Shinjiro then walked to Emi and grabbed her, “Alright Emi how about you head out front and make sure everything is in place before we open soon” she said and dragged her out the kitchen.

Shinjiro watched them leave and then got back to work.

The day went on after that, the bakery was busier than normal but they were not going to complain about it. 

“Keiko-chan we are gonna need some more banana bread and vanilla strawberry cupcakes!” she called out in the doorway of the kitchen.
Keiko nodded, “Alright, thank you Emi!”

“Keiko you can make the banana bread and I can make the vanilla strawberry cupcakes” he told her and headed to the fridge and started getting some of the ingredients out.

Keiko nodded and started getting stuff ready for the banana bread as well.

Shinjiro took out the strawberries and started cutting them in half, he then got a bowl of sugar ready and put the strawberries in the sugar and put a light coat of sugar on them.

He had already made the batter ahead of time so he had that out and grabbed the cupcake pan and prepared it so the cupcakes wont stick, he then added the batter into the pan and made sure each hole in the pan was evenly filled.

It then was put into the oven and as they started to cook he started on the frosting which is a vallila based frosting with small chunks of strawberries.

“Hey Keiko, I forgot to tell you but that guy will be coming over after we close to come visit us” He said as he continued to work on the frosting.

“Oh he is? I don't think I have gotten to see him yet, I really wanna see him thought now with how Emi talked about him..it lowkey made me jealous so i need to see how he looks” she said the last part under her breath so Shinjiro was unable to hear what she had said.

He noticed her lips move with the last words but didn't hear it, “What was that Keiko? Do I need to adjust the sound of my hearing aid?” He questioned her and raised an eyebrow.

“Oh it was nothing Shinjiro-san! I didn't say anything at all at the end” she said and nervously laughed.

“Even though I didn't hear anything you still said something I saw your lips move!” he laughed a little. 

Keiko’s eyes widened and went to open her mouth then closed it, “Anyway I'm gonna put the bread in now-” she said and headed to the stove wanting to get off the topic of conversation very embarrassed.

Shinjiro laughed a little and had finished making the frosting; he then went to get the cupcakes out of the oven and now needed to let them cool down.

The day continued and the three had another successful day.

“It was so busy today! I’m so glad it's over” Emi said dramatically and sat down on a chair in the dining area.

Keiko sat down next to her and playfully hit her, “Hey don't act like you dont wanna work here by saying that.”

Emi pouted in response, then Keiko looked at Shinjiro, “When is that guy coming over?” Keiko asked and tilted her head.

He looked over at her and shrugged, “I guess whenever because he said after closing time, you guys can go home if you want."

“Wait, who's coming over?” Emi questioned; then said, “Ohh maybe it's your boyfriend Shinjiro-san~” she said playfully.

Keiko hit her on the head, “Now you know damn well he's not interested in getting into a relationship, Emi”.

Shinjiro looked at her, “It's the guy you wouldn't shut up about, his name is Imai Silas and he's definitely not my boyfriend”

“Well you guys I think would look so cute together though! What if you guys are a fated pair!” Emi said with a big smile on her face.

Shinjiro choked on his spit, “Yeah right, it's like a 1 in a million chance of meeting a fated pair, plus even if I did meet mine I don't want to be in a relationship which you already know”.

“I know but what if-” she started to talk but was cut off due to the front door opening and Silas peaked his head in.

“Hello guys!” He smiled and walked in and waved at Shinjiro.

“Hello Silas! It's so nice to see you again but I think me and Keiko are gonna head out! Bye bye!” Emi said and grabbed Keiko, “Hey wait a minute Emi?” Keiko said but was dragged out of the bakery.

Silas and Shinjiro watched them leave and then they looked at each other.

“Well I guess it's just the two of us, Shinjiro-kun,” he said and smiled at him.

Shinjiro nodded and felt a little nervous but spoke up, “About yesterday, I'm sorry about me just leaving like that and for being rude”.

He was shocked at the sudden apology, “There is no need to apologize, I did just kinda invite myself over by the truck while you were working.”

Shinjiro sighed a little, “But that still didn't give me the right to act how I did just because you’re an Alpha.”

He stood there in thought for a moment then spoke, “Seeing as you’re an Omega I can imagine what happened to you to make you like that towards Alphas but I’m guessing it's just male alphas.”
Shinjiro nodded, “Yea, Keiko is an female Alpha and I feel safe around her, she's been by my side for 10 years, since I was 14”

Silas went wide eyed, “You are 24?!” He asked and was shocked, “You are younger than I thought you would be”

“You thought I was older? I feel offended, how old are you then?” Shinjiro asked and crossed his arms.

Silas laughed nervously before answering, “Well you see I'm thirty five”.

He looked at Silas with wide eyes, “I'm sorry I think i misheard you, maybe I should adjust my hearing aid because I know you didn't say thirty five”.

“You heard me right, I know I'm old but at least I look young,” he said with a smirk and Shinjiro laughed.

Shinjiro then went and sat down before speaking again, “You got that right, you do look younger”.

He then undid the first button of his shirt and leaned back in the chair and rubbed his eyes. Silas saw this and sat down next to him.

“You look tired, it must have been busy today, huh?” Silas was very close to Shinjiro and he nodded.

“Yeah, it was busier than normal, I had to make a lot more cupcakes then what was out today then I had some custom orders to do as well, which one was a cake for a party”
Silas listened to him but then got a glimpse of his neck and on his neck was his fate mark in the shape of what looks like a cupcake. He sat there staring at his neck as Shinjiro was talking but couldn't hear what he was saying till Shinjiro shook him a little.

“Hey why are you so spaced out, are you ok?” He asked and was a little concerned, “Or did I bore you with my talking?”

Silas shook his head, “No you didn't bore me, sorry about that, it's just your mark caught my eye”

He used his hand to cover it with his hand, “Oh yea about it, I tend not to show it but the shirt was feeling too tight so I needed to loosen it”
Silas looked at his neck once again then looked away then his phone started to ring and he looked at it and huffed.

“I'm sorry Shinjiro-kun I'm gonna have to go, work calls for me.” he sat up and gave Shinjiro a smile.

“Oh ok, it was nice being able to see you again, how about if you have time this weekend maybe we could go do something?” Silas smirked.

“Uh sure, could I by chance pick where we go?” Shinjiro looked at him hoping he would say yes.

Silas nodded, “Of course, let me leave my phone number and you call me on where and what time to meet you”.

“Alright, I will do that” Shinjiro smiled a little and then watched as he left his number down on a piece of paper. "I’m taking my leave now, cupcake bye bye~” He said in a playful tone and left.

Shinjiro sat there and just looked at the door that Silas just left out of.

“Did he just call me cupcake?” He muttered to himself and his face became red and he quickly covered it.

Silas after leaving stood outside for a few mins and smirked to himself then called the person who had called him.

“You called me right on time, I need you to do something for me. Look into Watanabe Shinjiro for me” he told the man on the phone.

The man was confused as he's never heard of the name before from Silas.

“And why is it you need me to look into this person's boss?” the man asked.

“I want to know if he has any money he owes and anything of importance because it appears I have found my fated pair” he said happily with a big smirk on his face.
