Bad decisions and some magic.
The father's magic uses gold ink, so it's shiny and reflective in person. I think it still looks magical, though I thought it would reflect the scanner's light more than it does.
Please let me know if it's confusing to figure out who's saying what, here. I think I'll do traditional comic tails starting in Chapter 3.
