The coop sets up to celebrate Epiphany (on Friar's request) in the wake of the pestilence. But it's not all Christmas lights and tinsel, as the festivities are disturbed by three mysterious visitors...Part 1 of 6, and they're longer than usual, but no less fun.
(You think giving myself three/four months would get me ahead but nooooo, I have a compulsive need to do stuff at the last possible second. Hope you enjoy this one as it unfolds.)
*This is technically a finale for the previous year of eps, which I've deemed "The White Order" in terms of theme (peace, enlightenment, stuff).
*The Red Order will begin some time after this, once I introduce a few new characters.
The chickens stealing the lights is giving me Secret of NIMH vibes. In the book the rats got their lights from the “Annual Light Bulb Harvest”. Regular bulbs were too big for them to handle so they used Christmas lights.
I love how Friar is getting the exact kind of welcome that anybody spouting religion would get. I also like seeing more of Gallus.
Meet Friar, a holier-than-thou chicken who struggles to lead his ignorant flock to salvation, blissfully unaware of his true purpose. Meanwhile, the well-known Tryon family struggles with running a chicken rescue alongside a waning poultry business in the wake of bereavement. Amidst the growing changes, newcomers to the flock upset the pecking order of things in a humorous, twisted and dramatic tale of friendships, betrayals, and failing conformity.
In Halaka's name, Ka-Roo!
*Season 2, The Red Order has begun!
*PG for Mild violence and blood
