At the end of the day, Prometheus locked up the clinic with Ghost on his back. Agatha left to go visit Felix and Safie as well as help them settle into parenthood as they had just been blessed with a baby boy. Igor decided to join Prometheus and Ghost to pay their friend Albert DeLacey a visit. They walked to his apartment while purchasing a bottle of sherry on the way.  Even outside the door, they could hear Albert playing his usual tune “Ave Maria” on his violin though they had to interrupt him by ringing the doorbell.

Albert opened the door with no need for his cane as he knew the layout of his room “Hello?”

“It’s Igor and me.” Prometheus greeted him and Ghost let out a hoot.

“And Ms. Ghost too, I see. Come in, come in. To what do I owe this pleasure?” he said as he walked down the hall.

“Think of this as a congratulations for entering grandparenthood. We got sherry.” Igor chuckled.

Albert laughed as he made his way to the kitchen to get some glasses “Ah, yes. To think that at one time I was wondering when my son and Safie would finally wed let alone have a child. Though I truly have you to thank for it, Prometheus. Thanks to you helping us during that year at the cabin, Felix was able to afford better land to grow crops on and better living conditions.”

Prometheus shook his head “It is you who did everything for me, Albert. You put in a word with the help of your old friends in the medical industry to help get me a job at the clinic as a general doctor.”

“And me too.” Igor added as he uncorked the bottle.

Albert poured them each a glass “All I did was talk sense into those hard-headed people though I hoped you two would be working at the hospital with your skills. That clinic is beneath you.”

“It’s beneath Prometheus at least hence why he was able to take over it in no time.” Igor pointed to his tall friend.

“I like working at the clinic. I made a good life for myself there and so did Agatha as the secretary. Besides, we're helping people, isn’t that what matters?” Prometheus argued as he stroked Ghost’s back

“That’s just it. Imagine what you could have done if you were in a hospital, Prometheus, but by law you can’t because you don’t have an official identity since you’re still an amnesiac. Not that they’ve been able to identify lots of missing people during the last three years.” the old man scoffed as he took out of bologna for the owl.

Prometheus shrugged “Many people remain missing after the plague. It is very likely they’re not even alive anymore sadly. Many of the people who reported them missing fell victim to the plague themselves.”

“I still find it hard to believe that whatever was done to you was never recorded in any medical records, Prom.” Igor commented.

“Maybe it was done to me a long time ago and not here in Germany, Igor.” he replied thinking about it.

Albert shook his head “I will NEVER forget how your face and hands felt the first time I touched them, and I can tell you that whatever was done to you was recent and could not have happened very far. At the time The threads were still in you!”

Prometheus was silent for a moment looking down into his glass.

“Prom, maybe you should see a specialist again to help you remember.” Igor suggested.

Prometheus shook his head “I’ve gone to five different people and I even resorted to hypnosis, Igor. None of it worked. The only thing I can remember before waking up that night was my admiration Prometheus. And considering everything, I’m grateful to have been found at all and be where I am now.”

“I have no argument for that.” Igor sighed with Ghost giving a hoot while Albert fed her some bologna.

“Anyway, how is the baby, Albert?” Prometheus asked to change the subject.

“He’s loves to grab everything and is a big boy. I need to sit down while holding him.” Albert informed them.

Later that night, Prometheus was in bed sleeping, but he was having a horrible nightmare. He was dreaming of being whipped and called a monster by that person he only faintly remembered from that night years ago. He could not forget it if he tried. However, there was one notable difference. Instead of seeing himself in the mirror when he looked at himself, he saw William with his broken arm and scars screaming loudly for help. Prometheus woke up in a cold sweat and panting as he scanned his room and Ghost looked at him with her wide eyes on the perch. He calmed down for a moment, but then realized he could hear hits and someone screaming for help even after he woke up.

“HELP ME!!” Mr. Eldrich’s voice pleaded hysterically behind the door, and he continued to pound on it while occasionally ringing the doorbell. Prometheus donned a robe before opening it and the older man practically flung himself at him with the colour drained from his face “DOCTOR, SAVE MY BOY!!”

“Whoa, whoa! Mr. Eldrich, you must calm down. What is it?” Prometheus asked.

“SOMEONE TRIED TO KILL MY SON!! YOU MUST SAVE HIM!!” Mr. Eldrich said pointing to Mark who sat up in a semi-collapsed state next to him.

Prometheus then realized Mark’s forearms were missing and the stumps were crudely bandaged “Come inside now! I need to operate at once!” he commanded while lifting him up and they rushed insided.

The operation took most of the night, but it was successful thanks to Prometheus acting so quickly. Mark did not wake until late in the morning in the spare room. Mr. and Mrs. Eldrich stood over him on edge.

“Mom? Dad? Where am I? What happened?” Mark murmured groggily to which his mother burst into tears of joy laying down on him as Prometheus came in with some tea.

“Hello, Mark. Your father brought you to my home and I managed to save you, but I’m afraid there’s nothing more I could do for your arms.” Prometheus explained.

Mark then recalled everything with clear horror in his expression as he looked at where his arms used to be, then broke down crying.

“Who did this, Mark? I’ll rip off THEIR arms and beat them to death with them!” Mr. Eldrich clenched his teeth.

“Mr. Eldrich, you need to remain calm.” Prometheus advised while putting his hand on his shoulder.

“What I need is justice for my son, you fool! Some sick bastard chopped off my son’s arm and then left him to die!” Mr. Eldrich shook his fists in the air shaking him off.

“To get justice, you need to stay calm in order to report this to the police.” Prometheus explained while putting his fists down.

“How am I going to finish my painting now?! How am I going to paint ever again?! My life is ruined... Dad, you should have just let me die!” Mark wept as his mother held him.

Prometheus winced upon hearing this, then closed the door behind him to give them privacy.

He let out a long sigh as he leaned against the wall with Ghost looking at him from the table. He took off his glasses rubbing his face while thinking before taking a cup of tea for himself.

The way his arms were cut off...

His thoughts were interrupted when Mr. Eldrich came out of the room looking defeated and walked over to Prometheus “I... I’m sorry about how I acted, doctor. You saved my son and I...”

“I don’t hold it against you. I’m sad for Mark, so I can only imagine how you feel, Mr. Eldrich.” he reassured him.

Mr. Eldrich wiped his eyes “I shouldn’t have left him alone at his studio. I should have stayed with him, so that he wouldn’t be walking the streets alone at night.”

“I don’t think this was done alone, Mr. Eldrich. If you want to know the details of my observations...” Prometheus began and the older man gave him a nod of approval “Mark’s attack was not done with brutality. His arms were cut off in a very precise way and he was already drugged to begin with. In fact, I found an injection wound on his neck.”

“What do you mean?” he looked confused.

Prometheus tried to find the right words for a moment “I can’t say for sure, but from the way things look and how I theorize things were done, I don’t think this was a murder attempt. It looks as though the objective really was to take his arms.”

Mr. Eldrich shuddered “That is the most horrifying thing I ever heard!”

“As I said, I don’t know for sure any more than you do.” Prometheus reminded him to calm him down “Anyway, I’ll help you bring him home, instructions on how to help him and his medicine when you’re ready.”

“Yes, doctor... wait.” a thought suddenly hit the man and he looked up at Prometheus with a serious expression “My son kept repeating the name ‘Will’ and the phrase ‘broken arm’. Does that mean anything to you?”

Prometheus faltered for a moment. Yesterday, he did treat a young man by the name ‘William’. He was about to mention that, but something held his tongue. The image of William’s scars and broken arm stayed in his mind as well as the look of shame and fear of him admitting that he was being abused. As he thought about it, a very clear image of William as a child beaten up and bleeding while crying came to his mind, causing him to crush the teacup he was holding.

“Doctor?!” Mr. Eldrich bolted up.

“S-Sorry. This situation is getting to me... And no. I’m afraid it doesn’t.” Prometheus lied nervously.

The older man bought it looking disappointed “I see. I... I need some air.” he went out to the yard.

Prometheus hung his head in shame and guilt over lying, but his instincts told him not to tell on William especially after that image came to his mind.

William... I know you.

Dr. Prometheus is an amnesiac who's earliest memory only dates back three years. He has the appearance of a ragdoll, the strength of twenty men, a heart of gold and extensive medical and surgical knowledge which he uses to help the sick and injured regardless of social standing. One day, Prof. Victor Frankenstein, the man who is most likely responsible for Prometheus' mental and physical, comes into town to share his wonder treatment with anyone rich enough to afford it, but along with it, strange and terrifying things start happening which Prometheus will not stand for. In doing so, he slowly remembers his dark past and the darker truth about himself...
