Asukem found himself back on the right path, recalling Gimp's battle against Annerdu, Grant's selfless determination to protect his village, and Asukem's own fierce struggle against a formidable enemy to save Grant and Grant's home. Yet, the sudden realization that Annerdu had poisoned him so swiftly was both unsettling and pressing. It made him ponder, "How could I have let my guard down so effortlessly?"
Asukem was grateful for the support of his loyal friends, including Gimp, Grant, Kittienia, Nightclaw, and even the Chieftain. Gimp and Grant briefed Asukem on the current situation. Despite being rescued, Asukem asked, "I appreciate your help, but how can I assist if I'm not fully informed about the poachers?"
Asukem, Grant, and Gimp are met with a disappointed gaze from the chieftain. However, he proceeds to recount the history of the tribal folk to them. The chieftain starts his tale by revealing that they were the second race to be created in Rikros. The tribal folk enjoyed a tranquil existence until the arrival of humans. Unfortunately, upon encountering the humans, they were mercilessly pursued and treated like mere animals. The tribal folk believed that their large population made them a target.
The Tribal Folk, who appeared like bobcats and mountain lynxes, made their way to the mountains. On the other hand, those resembling lions and tigers remained in the forests, while those who looked like pumas and panthers headed to the fields and plains. In contrast, the individuals who resembled cheetahs and caracal-type cats ventured to the sandy regions of Rikros, and all of these Tribal Folk shared the same indigenous symbols.
They soon discovered that their sheer numbers were not intimidating—it was their appearance. As a result, the Tribal Folk had to constantly move and run to survive. As humans progressed, so did the hunting; not only were they hunted for their looks, but now it had become a form of entertainment for the hunters.
The chief wraps up the history lesson. Right then, Grant informs Asukem that they had these creepy dogs and the hunters mistakenly looked like country bumpkins. The dogs resembled wolves but were made of shadows, and their eyes glowed wicked red. Leo opens the tent's flap and snaps, saying, "Alright, enough of your barking; we've got visitors!" Asukem quickly stands up, forgetting he's only in his boxers and there's a girl in the tent. Kittienia blushes and quickly looks away as she says, "Maybe I should wait outside and see what we're dealing with." She swiftly exits the tent and walks outside.
Asukem swiftly realizes that Kittienia has departed due to his appearance, causing him to feel embarrassed. "Ah, Crap! I am so sorry!" he exclaims. Gimp playfully taunts and chuckles at Asukem's forgetfulness, while Grant smirks and shakes his head before joining Kittienia and Leo outside. Nightclaw, the panther, faithfully trails behind Grant as they make their way outside. The chieftain remains inside the tent, but after teasing Asukem, Gimp decides to join the gathering outside by soaring out of the tent.
Asukem swiftly got dressed and snatched his katana as the sounds of battle echoed outside the tent. Stepping out, he realized that everyone was already engaged in combat. Suddenly, a crossbow bolt whizzed past Asukem and the chieftain's faces, narrowly missing them. Asukem shot a fierce glare at the person who had fired the crossbow, only to notice that Grant was in the midst of the fight, Gimp was hurling fireballs, Leo was injured but still fighting, Nightclaw, the panther, was trapped, and kittienia was pinned down by one of the poachers, who exclaimed, "Well, shucks, Pa look at that there, this one a gal!" The man's sinister expression and hungry demeanor sent shivers down Asukem's spine as he licked his lips and moved the knife closer to her throat. Witnessing this horrifying scene, Asukem swiftly restrained the chieftain and forced him to the ground, saying, "It's too dangerous for you out here, chieftain. Stay here and stay down. I apologize for my roughness."
The chieftain crouches and lays low on the ground, giving a nod of approval to Asukem. Asukem's fury reaches its peak when he notices kittienia in danger. Asukem's eyes turn red with anger and malice. Asukem vanishes in teleportation, leaving a misty shadow behind, and materializes in front of the man who had kittienia trapped with his demonic claw gripping his throat, shouting, "Step back, you jerk!" The man's face contorts in terror and panic as he struggles to breathe. Asukem hoists the man off kittienia and hurls him a few feet away. The man crashes to the ground and skids backward. An elderly man observes the scene and remarks, "Let's finish this, fellas. It's gettin' mighty cramped 'round here." They start to withdraw, pulling a wagon covered with a sheet.
Asukem can't believe his eyes as the poachers run away like scared mice. He mutters under his breath, "Pathetic." Quickly, he shifts his focus to Kittienia and offers a hand to assist her. Helping her up, he gently asks, "Are you alright?" Blushing, she timidly replies, "Yes, thanks for helping me."
Leo marches towards Asukem and kittienia, wincing in agony and clutching his injured shoulder. He grumbles, "Well, well, looks like you're not all bark, wolfling." Asukem smirks arrogantly and retorts, "You must be the musclebound Leo with fur." Leo's eyes narrow with anger as he growls, "Listen up, you mixed-blood!" Suddenly, kittienia shrieks, cutting off Leo, and fearfully yells, "No! Where's K'witkwaka!?"
Everyone watches with concern as Kittienia frantically calls out for K'witkwaja, known as Nightclaw. Leo gently places his hand on Kittienia's shoulder and reassures her, "Don't worry sis; she'll be alright, I promise." Asukem approaches with worry and notices that the panther is nowhere to be found. Assuming correctly that K'witkwaja is the panther, he offers his help and asks, "Is that the panther, and does she mean a lot to you, miss?" Kittienia collapses to her knees, tears streaming down her face, and nods, "Yes, she's like family to me and Leo."
Asukem gently placed his hand on Leo's shoulder, giving them a nod and speaking with determination, "Let's go search for this panther together, and maybe you can share more about yourselves later." Leo turned around, glaring at Asukem, and snapped with a growl, "Thanks, but we can handle it ourselves." Kittienia snapped, too, giving Leo a slap on the chest, "Leo, stop being a jerk!" The slap resounded loudly in the air, causing pain on Leo's face. However, Asukem raised his hand, signaling that everything was alright, and said, "It's okay; with time, he'll learn to trust me."
Asukem, an 18-year-old orphan from Rikros, is transformed into a sinkin by an evil demon who wields power to torment souls with her lust. Ah'keim, a powerful being with a mysterious ulterior motive, mentors him as he struggles to regain his humanity and undo the damage caused by the female demon. With the help of new friends who try to help him escape his fate as a sinkin, Asukem sets out to fight the void and gain control over his powers, all while seeking redemption for his past sins.
