It was a normal day, Woke up, got ready for school and attended classes. Me and some friends ended up getting detention. Getting dentinton at Caponey high is a brutal hour of boredom. So I watched the track team painfully run their laps around the field. Sitting in front of me is Liam, aka Cheesecake got his nickname for always eating cheesecake on his birthday, even at this moment the guy was probably thinking about cheese. Then to my left is Sam, smart and pretty petty. If anybody messed with the guy, he would always have this big elaborate plan, just to get back at them. This one time a teacher gave him a zero because his classwork was in pen, so next day there were no pencils to use because he took them all and made a chair out of them. When we first walked in, our jaws dropped to the floor! We saw pens where pencils should be! Then that's when we saw the chair, the class just quietly sat down waiting for the teacher. 

The teacher came in a couple minutes later, she greeted the class with a smile, but it faded fast. She was shocked, her eyes looked like they would pop out of her head any moment. In a confused daze she inspected the chair, the only thing she could do was muster “how?” Sam raised his hand, “ma’am I need a pencil, all I got is a pen.” He looked at her coldly, the teacher just mumbled “Just use your pen.” The whole day people were saying she never sat down in the chair, she sure did look like she lost a few years. Lastly to my right there was the sweet, innocent Rosa, smallest in the group. Cheesecake likes to call her shorty, he's right though,all the kids in our grade are taller than her and Currently she's fast asleep, she’s always tired. So she is always mumbling or talking quietly, sometimes you need to really strain your ears to hear her. Nobody believes me when I tell them she's super flexible, until they get a gym class with her. Then there's me, Jasper. 

I put my head down on the desk, I wonder how long this is going to take? Surprisingly the door opened and another student walked in, “Sorry i'm late!” she shouts. “Miss Ally you're half an hour late, detention is almost over!” The teacher's eyes looked like they were gonna shoot lasers, I sighed and drowned them out, looking up at the ceiling I noticed the lights were flickering. I turned to Sam. “ Hey man, the lights are going crazy!” He laughed, “ Well maybe that argument over there is going to summon something?” I sighed. I hope it's just a power issue, “But don't you guys think it's weird? By now it would have stopped.” Cheesecake said, while fixated on the lights. I looked over at Rosa, currently asleep. “I'm surprised she fell asleep.” Sam laughed.  

Cheesecake raised his hand, “Excuse me ma’am, the lights keep flickering,and it's bothering me.” She looked his way and sighed “Well Mr.Liam this school is an old building, if it's bothering you just close your eyes.” “It's getting annoying, can you call somebody!” Ally yelled, the teacher looked at Ally “ Miss Ally, do I need to call yo-!” Before she could finish, everything started shaking. Some ceiling tiles started to fall “GET UNDER THE TABLE!” 

Sam screamed pointing at the table against the window. I snatched Rosa and we all dashed under the table, while the teacher stood there for a second then went under her desk. I felt something clutch tight to me, I looked down. Rosa, everything shook even more, Windows started to shatter, there was a scream, it scared her, so she dug her face into my chest to block the noise, I held her tight. “It will be okay, This is the safest place, the tables are super thick. So if something falls the table will block it, I trust Sam and his judgment!” I yelled, he grinned and cheesecake nodded along to my statement. Then it hit us, We started floating but the table which are rooted to the floor stopped us from going any farther, While desk and the teacher flew, slamming against the ceiling, Screams were heard from everywhere, I hugged her even tighter closing my eyes, I felt two body’s on left side of me slamming into me hard. I knew who it was, we went into a bear hug. 

I heard cheesecake yell “Grab my hand!” Then I heard a little voice say “Thanks.”  I heard a big slam, then everything stopped. I opened my eyes, desk’s dropped to the floor, I flinched. There were screams then silence, I blinked scanning the area. Everything was a mess and it was dark? I felt the two body’s come off of me, “Why is it so dark?” Rosa said yawning, Ally took her phone out, “hold on i'll turn the flash on.” five of us were nervous. With the phone we could see school supplies everywhere, pencils and pens stabbed into the floor “ is it safe to come out?” Cheesecake asked, Sam put his hand to the cold floor to steady himself. “Not yet, sometimes earthquakes have aftershocks.” We waited a couple more minutes, nothing happened other than how quiet it was. “Okay, looks like we're good. I don't feel anything and clearly nothing is happening.” Rosa started to crawl out “Hey… I don't hear the teacher?”  she said, speaking softly, “You're right, excuse me, are you okay!” Cheesecake shouted as the rest of us crawled out. No reply, Rosa stood next to me and leaned on the sturdy table avoiding the glass shards squinting outside. Rosa stumbled back quickly looking away “Don’t…Don’t look outside.”
