🌈 Happy Pride Month!!! 🥳This month's episode is examining gender identities from around the world! Not only are they from all around the world, but they've also been around for a long time, and they were not just tolerated, but greatly respected and valued, too. Unfortunately, a lot of these identities now face marginalization outside and, sadly, usually inside their cultures, too, as a rippling result of colonizers being like "Bro, we don't have this at home and now that this is our home, we aren't going to have this bro." (Ew.) But it's extremely important to know that these people existed, and people like this continue to exist!
Disclaimer: I took inspiration from real people and art of these cultural identities, but my interpretations should not be taken as gospel for how these folks actually look/looked. I mostly aimed to make them look like they're on a fashion magazine cover, as opposed to aiming for complete real life accuracy. :^)
Omg I love thisss, thank you for sharing a mini history of gender around the world ✨💫 I’m nonbinary myself so it’s nice to see people have existed outside of the binary for a long time. Happy pride month! 🌸
