Later that day, Eta went back to his parents' apartment and took some bread, lettuce, meat and mustard and put it in a bag. Then headed for the homeless shelter!

He boards a city bus that would pass by it, and planned simply waiting for the evening bus..

Eta: (This is perfect! I'll strike up friendship with a homeless kid, then even if I don't get powers right that moment, I'll just keep coming with more food! Eventually they'll be happy to see me, and then I'll be a hero!)

He looks away from the food and sighs as he stares at the buildings the bus passed..

Eta: (I probably couldn't just leave after that though.....Maybe I'll use my powers to make enough money to donate periodically? I'd be able to if things turn out right anyway... Besides, I don't want things to get even worse. Alotta people lie just long enough to become a "hero" and then leave whoever they used, so alotta people REALLY don't trust anyone. This..is gonna be rough, but a kid wouldn't already be so jaded and hardened, right?)

Eta wonders about his decision, and then gets off at the stop. Here many homeless people sat out in front of the building as it was too hot to sit inside where there was no AC.. they assumed maybe the wind would blow outside at least.. Eta looks over the people in the shade of the shekter's awning, and noticed a small child at the end of the row. He walks to her

Eta: (OK, just be brave. I suck at talking to new people, but this should be easy after I tell her I brought food. I'll keep bringing her stuff if need be, then I'll be able to help her for real, pay mom and dad back for sneaking food, AND jumpstart my painting career! Yeah, don't be nervous! It's just a kid!)

Eta catches her attention as his shadow is cast over her, she looks up with a partially surprised but mostly too-tired-to-actually-care look on her dirtied face. Her muddy and oversized jacket made her look like a featureless mud lump with green eyes. Eta kneels to her eye-level and started to say

Eta: Hey, I know this is outta nowhere, but I brought y...

When a old muddied man jumps out of his spot and ran upon him, snatching the bag of foodstuff out of Eta's hands!

Hoboman: FOOOOOD!??? Thankyou!!!

Eta: B,u but it's f...(Well, I'll probably be his hero? Dammit, but now I feel bad since she was probably expectin' something...)

Before Eta could respond, a huge explosion shook the street! Some of the homeless ran indoors. But the old man continued drinking mustard straight from the bottle without concern, and the tired girl simply watched as a bank robber ran from a building! He wore orange tights, and let his black long (dyed partially red) hair flow from the top of the costume, obviously he covered his eyes and mouth in fire to keep his identity from being seen!

Sunburned: Hahaha! This is WAY too easy!

Hoboman: I know that young man! *gulps mustard* He helped out miss Tiffy before, he even romanced her a little, until THAT happened!

Eta: (Dude womanized a homeless lady for powers? Geeez!! I ..I'd feel different if he was stealing for her, but I know he isn't!)

Sunburned ran from the police, who all of course had to rely on just guns to try to stop him. But they shot wildly, just like the robber did. So civilians took cover, and the oldman casually walks back into the shelter while finishing off the lettuce..

Hoboman: Yuck! I hate green stuff!

Eta started to run behind a car, but noticed the girl merely roll over and crawl slowly to the shelter door as bullets whizzed by overhead!

Eta: Frick!

He carefully lifted the lame girl up and ran behind a car, which mostly reflected the stray bullets and heatblasts! Up until everybody heard a 

Everman: Never fear, Everman is here!

Cheers IMMEDIATELY flooded the street, Eta peaked from behind the car and saw the muscular hero decked in blue tights with red stars circling around it, and white boots loop, belt and gloves on!

Eta: Whaaaaaa? What's a famous hero doing in the worst part of THIS city? I thought he lived a coupla states away!!!?

Sunburned: What are you doing way out here?! Forget that, you're gonna die!

Everman: My reputation proceeds me.. But that's very hateful to someone you jusr met? I guess when you're afraid, you're liable to say anything!

Sunburned suddenly shoots several heatblasts into Everman at point-blank, but he deflects them off his chest as he stomps forwards!

Sunburned: I'll just get your face! Nobody's invincible, that suits' padded!

Before he fired again, Everman ripped off the chest part of his costume and caught the blast over his heart-a extremely dangerous place to hit on the human..or any body. Sunburned shot him in again, this time the boasts completely engulfs Everman! But the superhero suddenly reached through the fire and knocks Sunburned away!

Sunburned: AAAAH! Dammit, stop or I'll hit that shel...

he aimed his flaming right arm at the homeless shelter while saying this, but Everman suddenly zoomed and kicked in his teeth, knocking the robber out! The crowds cheer wildly for him, and chant his name! Each chant made him glow.. Eta awed as this was his first time seeing Everman in person and actually anybody at all gaining even more power! Everman's face is half covered with a blue mask, but you can see his eyes glowing from underneath it as he hears the cheers! 

Everman: Make sure you keep his hands doused, usually fire users only have one point they can shoot from.

he warned the cops, as they arrest him. Then Everman leaps away! Eta watches in awe and leaves the place, after ensuring the hobo girl wasn't hurt by the glass or anything..

Eta: (I can't believe a real superhero came here!!! Not just someone with powers, but a actual hero! Why's Everman here?! What's happening?)

Eta suddenly remembers

Eta: ( Ah, I forgot... I didn't receive anything.... either my existence was eclipsed by Everman, or she couldn't care less about what I tried to do. But I'll try again, I.. I.. I wanna be a hero!)

Eta returns to the waiting Ocala, and tells her about everything. Eta slowly but surely decides not to help the homeless to gain powers as his conscious bothered him, but felt compelled to do it,  while still trying to hatch up another idea on how to actually gain powers and become a Hero for money!
