My hands instantly fly to my eyes as I adjust to the sudden change in the environment surrounding me. All around me are vibrant flowers, banners, people moving about in weird outfits, and... blue trees?
My hospital gown flits around my ankles as I make my way over to the nearest tree. I feel almost entranced by the strange tree. The wood is an emerald green, garnished with blue buds just about to flower. The bark feels rough and sharp against my snowflake-like skin but also tender at the same time. It feels as though I could stare at this mesmerizing wood all day, but I come back to my senses when I hear an earsplitting shriek.
I quickly spin around, my hair brushing against my face, and observe a fight breaking out in the middle of the street. All I can do is gawk at the mind-bending scene in front of me. There appears to be a creature that looks like a cross between a crow and a human, shrieking at a person with unusually long, pointed ears. The long-eared person draws a double-edged sword from their sheath, the tip of which looks like it has some kind of red substance on it. I decide it's most likely not rust, so I should probably book it before things get worse.
I start running in the opposite direction from the village, the wind pushing my gown against me. I wipe a drop of water from my forehead, confused, and look up to figure out where it came from. Not even a second later, the sky lets out a downpour of rain.
“C-can this da-ay get any worse!” Out of breath from running, I plop down against a nearby tree, careful not to look at it and get entranced again. I quickly learn that it was a mistake not to look at it, as I’m instantly lifted into the air by some kind of net contraption.
“Come on! It was just sarcasm, I didn’t actually want it to get worse!” I yell into the void as the sky around me gets darker from the storm clouds. “I might as well try to get some sleep and think of a plan when I’m better rested,” I sigh while repositioning myself in the uncomfortable net. I push back the feeling that I’m some kind of wounded animal like this. I didn’t realize how tired I truly was until I fell asleep almost immediately after closing my weary eyes.
I wake up to a sharp pain in my head and feel the ground beneath my hands. I try to rub the sleepiness from my eyes to assess my situation, but before I can, a cloth goes over my face, preventing me from seeing anything. All I hear is a cold, snake-like voice saying, "Finally got her," before I completely black out.
