Heir Vs. Chef: The recipe for love

CHAPTER SEVEN

CHAPTER SEVEN

Oct 11, 2024

Fate or chaos?

Don’t you think it’s kinda wild how these two always run into each other? Like, seriously, Mashinesto is huge, yet somehow, Max and Zane keep crossing paths. Earlier, they didn’t even really meet—they just kind of saw each other through Max’s friends, but now, here they are again. It makes you wonder: is it fate pulling the strings, or just some chaotic tangle where no one even knows where the end of the string is?

So, picture this: Alfred’s about to pull off this sneaky move, trying to get Zane out of Wiskque Bar without anyone noticing, right? Almost smooth—*almost*. But guess who shows up and ruins it? Yup, none other than the annoying heir, Max. And what’s he doing? Just being Max—doing whatever he wants and kind of declaring, in his own weird way, that he’s got a lover. The guy can barely keep his eyes open but is still stumbling his way toward them.

Now, instead of walking straight to them like a normal person, Max gets distracted by everything in the bar. He’s making his way over, but it’s so slow, and Alfred’s patience is running *thin*. Max even starts dancing and yelling “YooOoOOoo!” as he bumps into random people along the way. Yep, typical Max.

By this point, Alfred’s about ready to snap. He’s been waiting for Max to come over just to get this over with, so Max can go off and have his fun already. This guy’s been itching for weeks to get some action, and Alfred’s ready for him to finally leave so he can do his thing.

Now, Max is pretty famous, but not *everyone* knows him. And Alfred? He has no idea who this dude is. So when Max stumbles over, Alfred’s all calm and polite, smiling like nothing’s up. “Can I help you with something?” he asks, like he’s not in the middle of some sketchy plan.

Max, being his usual drunk self, points at the chef and slurs, “That’s my babyyyy!” But here’s the thing: he’s not even pointing at Zane. He’s pointing at Alfred instead. The guy doesn’t even know what’s happening; he’s just making things worse.

Alfred’s done with it. “Who’s your baby, exactly?” he asks, clearly annoyed.

“Him… and you too,” Max says, like that’s totally normal. Then, without missing a beat, he adds, “But I don’t like you anymore. You’re rude. Let’s break up.” He pouts like a kid, obviously scared of Alfred now. “So I can have him all to myself,” he mumbles.

Alfred’s not having it. “He’s not your boyfriend. Leave us alone,” he says, standing his ground.

In Alfred’s head, he’s thinking this is gonna drag on forever if this drunk guy doesn’t get the hint. Like, they’re gonna be stuck here all night because Max is too wasted to realize that Zane isn’t even his boyfriend.

"HEYY~"

"WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM, MAN?" Alfred finally snapped, trying to calm himself down. His eyes were practically throwing daggers at Max, who, in his drunken state, didn’t even notice.

"YOOO, YOU'VE GOT MY LOVIESS. DON’CHA THINKISH BETTER TO HAND HIM OVER CHUU MEEE~" Max slurred, reaching for Zane and wrapping an arm around his waist.

“Hey, stop touching him! He’s my friend. You’ve got the wrong guy, and you’re drunk—how can you even claim he’s your lover?” Alfred yanked Max’s hand off Zane, breaking his hold with no hesitation.

"Owww~ dat hurtssss! You meanieee~" Max pouted, blinking drowsily. But as stubborn as he was, he forced himself to stay awake and glared at Alfred.

“CALL THE OWNER! HE’S ROBBING MY LOVIES!” Max yelled at the bouncer, who was just standing there, watching the drama like it was his entertainment for the night. Max stood up straight, trying to look sober, but let’s be real—he wasn’t fooling anyone. If anything, him trying so hard made it even more obvious how wasted he was. People around were starting to doubt his whole "I have a lover" story and were more convinced he was just making it up in his drunk state.

Meanwhile, Zane—who had closed his eyes, thinking it was Brando holding him—was already half-asleep, completely trusting his best friend to take him home. The guy had *zero* survival instincts.

"You're really pushing me, huh! Here's one for you!" Alfred couldn’t take it anymore. His fists were itching for some action, and with the heir pushing all the wrong buttons, he threw a punch straight to Max’s jaw. The blow was hard enough that Max stumbled, clutching his face and hissing in pain. At first, he thought he’d just bumped into a wall—his vision was all blurry and he was already dizzy.

But when he realized that Alfred had punched him, not some random wall, Max’s eyes went wide. *Now* he was fully awake, glaring at Alfred like he just triggered a boss battle.

And Alfred? He didn’t care who Max was. When it dawned on him that this wasn’t just some random rich guy, he landed another punch. And this time, Max wasn’t just gonna stand there and take it. He let the first hit slide, but if it was going down like this, Max figured, "Why not fight back?" No way he was gonna let this “lowly commoner” mess up his face. He had a *skincare routine*, morning and night! No way he’d let Alfred ruin his perfect, well-maintained look.

So, the fight was on. Even though Max was at a disadvantage, being dead drunk and all, he managed to hold his own. His defense was surprisingly solid, and he even threw some punches whenever he saw the chance.

Honestly, Max kind of had it coming, causing all that trouble and not even knowing who the guy was. But, to be fair, in some twisted way, his instincts were spot on. He had sensed something was off. Maybe the heir had some hidden superpower—like, even drunk, he could sniff out danger from a mile away. Should we ask him? Probably not. He’d definitely say yes, even if it was totally made up. That’s just Max being Max, the sole heir with an ego to match.

In the end, after all the chaos, Alfred got banned from the bar *forever*. And the bouncer who just stood there and let the whole thing happen? Fired on the spot. Wiskque Bar had a reputation to maintain—it was a 4.9-star bar, after all. There was no place for undisciplined workers or unruly customers. It was the right call by the manager to throw them both out.

As for everyone else in the bar? Well, they went right back to partying as if nothing had happened. Why get involved in drama that wasn’t theirs?

Maximus Evander MacGregor is the guy who doesn’t take life seriously—he's rumored to have more dating scandals than you can count. Zane Josh, on the other hand, is the country’s most sought-after chef, dedicated to his craft and with no time for distractions. So, when they meet in an elevator, you'd think it would be nothing but an awkward and ridiculous encounter, right?

Wrong.

That one messed up drunken night changes everything. Now, in a city so big, it’s almost laughable how often they bump into each other, like fate has decided to make the world too small for them.
