The sad part is that he even needs to do this. Izar is acting like Atlas's friend but not actually being his friend. If he's so heartbroken about Atlas breaking his trust maybe he shouldn't have broken Atlas's trust in the first place. The poor man is just a tool to be used to everyone around him, with no respect for his own desires or autonomy. It's no wonder he is lashing out with the smallest hint of control that he can find.
