TREVOR'S POV

"What is she doing here?" I come out my thoughts hearing Ms. Alana's angry voice, I blink my eyes in surprise seeing Ms. Alana standing next to me.

She is staring at Mia angrily, is she acquainted with Mia? But how? Before I could think what's happening she walks away.

She walks towards the main hall where Mia is standing and chatting with one of our waitresses. Perplexed, I follow her behind in a tow.

"McKenzie, what are you doing here?" Ms. Alana asks in a very rude tone, which surprised me a bit.

Ms. Alana is very professional, strict and always stick to the rules. I never seen her getting angry for no reason. But the way she's looking at Mia with so much hostility that I am stunned.

"Kelsey!" Mia looks at Ms. Alana with surprise, "You work here? Dang!" Mia curses under her breath while Ms. Alana raises her eyebrows, "Why didn't he tell she would be here?" She rubs her neck in frustration, "Then I wouldn't have come like this."

She mutters those words loud enough for everyone to hear. We all stare at her with a puzzled expression as she takes off her black jacket and throws it on the couch next to her.

"If you wanted to hide yourself, then don't wear all black. It makes you stand out more, especially with your ginger hair." Ms. Alana comments pointing her finger at Mia's hair, Mia scowls hearing that.

Well, Ms. Alana isn't wrong. She's wearing all black clothes with a cap and mask, which are now placed on the table. She probably removed it earlier to get an entry, we don't let anyone enter without seeing their face. It also because most of our customer are elite people, so it's beneficial for us to remember their face.

"Is that how you talk to your customer? It's not quite professional, you know." Mia comments while looking at Ms. Alana with a disinterested look.

"Well, for starter, you aren't my customer so I can talk to you the way I want." Ms. Alana replies while crossing her arms. She looks offended and pissed by her comments.

"And if you are here to meet Eric, then you should leave. He hasn't come yet." She says with a fake smile.

"Is that so?" Mia asks in a teasing voice, "But you are wrong about everything, darling. Today I come here as a customer." She says as she takes her purse and takes out from her purse. Seeing the shiny black and gold card, we all grasp. Even Ms. Alana looks surprised.

Mia put the gold card of our bar on the table which is right next to her. The gold card is a special one, it's not like our regular membership card. It's a customized card, which can be only used by two people, Mr. Evans and Ms. Alana.

"You still use Eric as your beck and call. Don't you feel ashamed?" Ms. Alana asks in a mocking tone while glaring at Mia.

"What if I do? Are you going to scold me?" Mia responds in the same way, "You are not his mother or sister so stop acting like one." Mia says curtly.

I have never seen Mia acting like this ever. She has changed so much; it has been more than ten years so it makes sense. We aren't the same people anymore. And the gap between us has widened in those years.

She's not only talking down to my boss but also acting like she owns the place, which I can never do in a million years. The realization is enough to wake me up from my dreams. I knew our world has drifted apart but I thought I could fill gaps between us. I thought everything would be okay as long as we stay together. Even at my lowest, I wanted to be with her. Just with her.

I let out a deep sigh and try to focus on the situation at hand.

Ms. Alana sighs in frustration, "Then come back when the bar is open, then we will treat you like one of our customers."

"Fine," Mia huffs, "How about we make a deal?"

"A deal? What kind of deal?" Ms. Alana asks, confusedly.

"You let me do what I want in return I will ask Nathan to come here. I heard your business isn't doing well since last month because of someone. So, I will help you out once. People will flock out if they know Nathan is coming here." Mia suggests, looking at Ms. Alana with a big wide smile.

Ms. Alana thinks for a few seconds and reply, "Who told we aren't doing well? We are doing great. And do you think I will trust you?"

As soon as Ms. Alana finishes her sentence, Mia takes her phone from purse and starts to type something on it. Not a second later, the phone beeps. She smirks and shows her phone screen to Ms. Alana.

Ms. Alana roll her eyes and mutters fine with a disapproved look. She then asks August to help Mia out. But Mia stops him.

"Not you," She says then looks at me, "I want him." She says looking at Ms. Alana while pointing her fingers at me. Ms. Alana sighs and asks me to help her out before walking out there while shaking her head.

I walk towards her and pick up the card and her jacket while Mia gets up from her seat.

"Wait a second," she says as she takes out a credit card from her purse and gives it to August, "What is your most expensive drink?"

"It's -" August is about to answer but she stops him again, "Doesn't matter. Just get it and enjoy by yourselves."

"By ourselves?" August asks while looking at Mia with a confused look. Mia just nods her head.

That's when Marcus jumps in the conversation and asks, "But why would you-"

"It's a bribe," Mia cuts him off and says, "To keep your lips sealed and eyes closed. You can also think it as a treat; a treat from boss's friend." She says with a sneaky smile while looking at all of the staffs who are standing there. The staffs nod their head in understanding and smiles at her awkwardly.

She then looks at August and says, "And I want two cheeseburgers with fries and two chocolate milkshakes in my room," She checks the watch in her hand, "Exactly in thirty minutes. Do you get it?"

The command in her voice is enough to make people scared, even faint. But somehow, I find it mesmerizing. Have I gone mad? I wonder. If not, then how could I still act like a fool?

Trevor, get your act together. Mia and you are nothing more than strangers now. And she's way beyond your league, don't get your hopes up. At the end, you'll be the one who will get hurt.
