Apocalypse: I, the Top Assassin, Turned into a Loli

Chapter 4: Do You Want to Live?

Chapter 4: Do You Want to Live?

Jan 09, 2025

[Beep! Newbie Task (2/3): Kill Wang Fuxiang Completed!]

[Rewards: Free Attribute Point *1, Points *100]

The system notification echoed in Sasha's mind once again.

Sasha smoothly allocated this attribute point to her physical fitness.
Her physical fitness reached 6 points, placing her in the upper range of ordinary adults.
It was probably the highest level an untrained adult could achieve.

Sasha was slightly surprised. After only completing a few tasks, the system had already enhanced her physical capabilities so rapidly, transforming her from a weak little girl into someone at this level in less than half a day.
The speed was astonishing!

She looked at her hands and legs, still slender and delicate, just like any other little girl.
There were no visible muscles.
She was very satisfied. The outward appearance of this body was the perfect disguise.
Everyone would just see her as a cute little girl.
No one would ever guess that within this petite body was a well-trained top assassin.

Sasha also noticed that her points had reached 150.
She wasn’t sure what the points were for, but there were still more pressing matters to handle at the moment.

Shen Yiyue had huddled in the corner of the warehouse.
Her light blue school uniform, dragged across the floor, had become so dirty that it was hard to recognize its original color.
Large tears streamed from her eyes, mixing with the dust on the ground.
Fear kept her from crying out loud. She was afraid of provoking Sasha, who was standing before her.
“P... please… don’t kill me...”
Shen Yiyue’s voice trembled as she begged.

Sasha didn’t respond. Instead, she slowly approached, holding the dagger in her hand.
She crouched in front of Shen Yiyue. Unlike an ordinary criminal, Sasha didn’t press the knife against her neck.
But Shen Yiyue didn’t feel any relief.
She knew very well that any movement on her part would result in her death.
The way Sasha had killed earlier—swift and ruthless—was faster and more decisive than anything she had ever seen in dramas.

Sasha gave a sweet smile, trying to act in line with the persona she had built.
She asked in a soft, innocent voice, “What’s your name?”

“Shen... Shen Yiyue.”
If it weren’t for the blood on Sasha’s face and the dagger in her hand, Shen Yiyue would have thought this was the most beautiful smile in the world.

“I have two questions for you. Answer me truthfully.”
Sasha’s smile didn’t falter.
“Okay...”
Shen Yiyue responded fearfully in a low voice.

“What's the date and where are we?”
Sasha’s original memories as a little girl were fragmented, like shredded A4 paper.
She could only remember there were zombies outside and nothing more for now.

“It’s June 16th, 2052, according to the Blue Star calendar.”
“We’re in a supermarket, on the way to my school, Tian Shen High School in A City.”

Blue Star calendar? Did that mean she had crossed over into another world?
Sasha’s heart sank.
She had thought that even if her soul had entered this little girl’s body, as long as she continued to lurk and train, she would eventually return to the organization.
She could confront the old board members and ask why they had abandoned her, someone who had been loyal for so many years.
But if this was a parallel world, how could she get the answers she sought?

Shen Yiyue, seeing Sasha fall into thought, grew even more nervous.
Though she had spoken the truth, she feared that something might have sounded suspicious and provoke Sasha’s displeasure.
She dared not ask anything and carefully waited for Sasha to speak again.

“Good, the second question: why did you suddenly shield me just now?”
Sasha’s gaze turned sharp and murderous.
Though she believed Shen Yiyue was 99% truthful, she couldn’t rule out the possibility of this being an organizational trap: a lie meant to deceive and gain her trust.
Sasha scrutinized Shen Yiyue’s face, watching for any signs of deceit. If she detected any, she would kill her with a single stroke.

Shen Yiyue, seeing the same cold, deathly gaze Sasha had given to Xu Qiang and Wang Fuxiang, felt her heart leap into her throat.
It felt as if an invisible hand had tightly grasped her throat, ready to strangle her at any moment.

“I... I have a younger sister, she’s about the same age as you.”
Shen Yiyue nervously tried to swallow, but her throat was dry from fear.
“I saw that the pervert seemed to have set his sights on you, so I...”

Before she could finish her explanation, her heart started racing so fast she felt her ears ringing.
Sasha nodded lightly, unable to detect any signs of lying.
It seemed that in that moment, Shen Yiyue had only acted protectively because of her younger sister.

“Where is your sister? Why isn’t she with you?” Sasha continued to probe.

“She’s at Tian Shen Elementary School, in the sixth grade.”
“The disaster struck while I was on my way to school. I could only run around, and the streets were chaos.”
“Soon, the phone signal was lost, and I couldn’t reach her or my parents.”

After hearing this explanation, Sasha fell into thought for a moment.
Then, she suddenly stood up and asked,
“Do you want to live?”

Shen Yiyue froze for a moment, then frantically nodded.
“Yes!”
The apocalypse had arrived, and in the limited days she had witnessed countless horrors.
She had almost lost her life and purity, almost being assaulted by two criminals.
In such a world, there was no morality, order, or law—only the law of the jungle.
Shen Yiyue felt a deep despair but also a faint glimmer of hope.
She wanted to see her younger sister again, to reunite with her kind and loving parents.

Sasha knew she had found the key.
In this second life, recalling her former solitary existence that ended with her being discarded like a tool, Sasha realized she wanted to live differently. She would need help.
And with this little girl’s body, it would be difficult to act alone in this chaotic world. She would need a disguise.
Someone who could act as her “little sister” or “junior.”

She gently adjusted her dress and leaned down, her amber eyes locking onto Shen Yiyue’s.
“Follow me. I might be able to use you.”
Sasha’s gaze was unwavering, her smile sweet but commanding.

Shen Yiyue didn’t have the option to refuse and nodded again.
In her eyes, a spark of hope ignited.
This silver-haired little girl was ruthless, cunning, beautiful, and strong.
Outside, there were zombies everywhere, and people who preyed on others.
As long as she stayed with Sasha, she might have a chance—a slim chance—to see her family and her younger sister again.

Seeing the determination in Shen Yiyue’s eyes, Sasha knew she had accepted.
She stopped staring at her and instead casually played with the dagger in her hand, saying,
“I will train you. Teach you how to kill, how to survive.”
“And you...”
Just as Sasha was about to continue, she suddenly heard a movement behind her.
Something seemed to be getting up, making a “hissing” sound!
