“Look Jones, if you need anything I will not get it for you. The centre is five minutes that way. If you need something , do it now. I don’t wanna come back into town.” He said coldly.
“Wow. You sure know how to treat a woman. No wonder potato girl doesn’t love you.” Octavia snarked back, matching his asshole vibe. He grumbled at us again as I nodded in agreement.
“He’s just sleepy,” I said mockingly to Octavia, who smirked.
“Wait, did you say Jones?” Octaiva asked, confused.
“Yep. Jones. Like an addiction, or fixation. Y'know, jonesing for your fix.” He replied, secretly smiling to himself with a sneer and not looking at her. Octavia frowned and turned slightly to face him. Much to his immediate horror, she grabbed his thigh and spun him to face her. He immediately tried to turn away, but she grabbed his other leg and held him still, right in front of her.
“I know you think it’s funny, but if you’re gonna keep it up like this, we’re gonna be in the shit. Why are you even making so many jokes? You know nothing about me. Nothing about what I used to do. What I used to be.” She hissed.
“It doesn’t matter. You did it once. You made that decision. You went so far that you couldn’t even stop yourself. You needed to get strangers to collect you to stop it. Don’t think we’re gonna be friends, I already hate you.” He yelled. She let him go and stared at him for a moment, without a smile. Then, faster than sound, she landed a strong punch in the bridge of his nose. He screamed and fell backwards off the bench, his hand on his face.
“Guess we are gonna have fun.” Octavia sneered with a smile, turning back to her food. I leaned forwards to be able to see Alex. He was breathing fast and clutching his nose which had blood pouring out of it.
“You broke my nose, you piece of shit!” He screamed, coughing from the blood running into his mouth.
“Told you I’d make you bleed” Octavia said, taking a delightful mouthful of potato. “I’ve heard your dumbass ground rules. It’s time for Octavia laws.”
Alex clambered back on the bench and collected up the napkins on the table, holding them against his nose. He was too distracted to protest, so Octavia continued on.
“If I’m out past 12, don’t ask questions. You can’t stop me from drinking alcohol. I don’t have a licence, so you will have to drive me places. I will touch your friend and Oh-don’t call me Jones, if you’re gonna be a jerk, be a creative jerk at the very least.”
Ignoring everything single thing she had just said, Alex tried to cautiously shift his nose back in the right direction.
He groaned loudly and wiped more blood from his mouth.
“It’s not broken you cry-baby” Octavia said with a chuckle like it wasn’t a big deal, “It’s just out of place.”
She swiftly reached forwards and poked his nose with one finger to the right until it made a loud cracking noise. Alex screamed loudly again and leant forward, clutching his face.
“Hey, dude, you’re getting blood on your p’tater” I said, reaching forward and pulling the potato away from Alex and his red nose waterfall. He gargled some more swears then got up and stormed off, leaving me alone with Octavia and her questions.
“Ever had anything in your ass?”
