THE FATHER'S POINT OF VIEW

When we arrived, a huge building appeared before our eyes. Inside, everything looked luxurious and rich. I couldn't believe that my friend, who used to do nothing but fool around, had become so successful.

We entered the elevator, went up to the right door and rang the bell. A few seconds later, the door opened and I saw the face of the man I was afraid to forget. He had changed a lot, but I knew for sure that he was my old friend.

— Oh, what people! Setoshi, come here, give an old friend a hug! — we hugged, as if trying to make up for all the missed years. "And Naoko is here!" — they hugged, and he invited us into the house.

— Wife, meet the guests! — he said, and a beautiful woman in a bright dress came out of the room.

— Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Kumiko.

—Hello," my wife and I replied at the same time.

— Why are you standing at the door? Come on in, the table is already set, we're going to have dinner now.

Before we sat down at the table, we decided to explore the apartment. It was huge and luxurious. In one of the rooms, we saw a boy sitting at a computer and talking to someone.

"This is our son Ethan. Ethan, say hello.

—Hello,— he said, not even deigning to look at us. I didn't think much of it and we moved on.

At the end of the hallway was a room decorated in pink tones.

— And this is our daughter Suzanne's room.

After looking around, we returned to the table and began to eat. Hikaru was talking about his life. I was afraid that he was doing something illegal, but fortunately, my fears were not confirmed.

One day he bought a lottery ticket and won a prize. It was a considerable sum, but not enough to live without worries. Taking a chance, he successfully invested money in the business. The business went uphill. Now he didn't have to worry about finances.

— And how are you on the personal front? - he asked.

"It's complicated,— I replied.

"What is it?"

— My son and I had a fight recently.

Our wives went into another room. That's why we were alone in the kitchen. I told him about my experiences.

"Look, you're putting too much pressure on your son. He is still young, he wants to live his youth the way he wants. Even when he was denied this opportunity, he didn't say anything. If you're doing well at work right now, why not give him more freedom? Have you ever wondered how good it is and doesn't cause problems? Believe me, other children break down in such conditions. You're lucky he didn't snap earlier. Take my son: he was born when my life was already in order. He had everything he wanted, and now all he does is sit at his computer. Or my daughter: she's almost never at home, she's always out somewhere, forgetting about studying. But I love them no less. I want them to enjoy their youth. When the time comes, I'll explain to them that it's time to take responsibility. If you deprive them of youth now, they will look for it later. So give your son freedom. Let him feel that a loving family is waiting for him at home, not prison.

IZUMI'S POINT OF VIEW

Standing outside Himari's house, I heard terrible screams. I went to the door, but I didn't dare enter. I was scared: this man was huge and obviously knew how to fight, but I didn't. While I was hesitating, Akaru appeared next to me. He looked at me, and after a moment he barked briefly. I decided to take it with me and finally worked up the courage to enter. A plan of action was already forming in my head.

When I opened the door, I saw a terrible scene: Himari was lying wounded on the floor, and a man towered over her, striking her fragile body. I felt a rage like I'd never felt before. But I didn't let it overwhelm me: only with a cool head did I have any chance of defeating the opponent. He was tall and strong, with a broken bottle in his hand. It was obvious that Himari's father was completely drunk.

"Who are you?" "What is it?" he asked, finally noticing me.

I didn't answer. I had a few trump cards ready, but I didn't want to use them unnecessarily. The first step was to get rid of the bottle in his hand. Stepping away from the door, I made way for Akar. We rushed at the man at the same time, understanding each other without words. He swung the bottle at my head. The alcohol slowed him down a bit, but even so, I barely managed to dodge. As it turned out, not to the end. A cut appeared on my cheek, which immediately began to bleed, but at that moment I didn't care. Blood flowed down my face, but I managed to grab his arm and press myself against him from behind so that he couldn't swing the bottle.

Initially, I planned to chain his hands so that Akaru could attack. But I underestimated the strength and experience of the former mafia boss in fights. After a moment of confusion, he pulled his arm out of my grip and elbowed me in the ribs. It was as if all the air had been drained out of me. The force of the blow sent me flying back a few steps, feeling something crunch uncomfortably inside my body.

But I have completed my task. While the man was messing with me, he completely forgot about Akaru, who, waiting for the right moment, grabbed his hand holding the bottle. There was a painful cry. Due to Akaru's friendly demeanor, it was easy to forget that he belonged to a hunting breed. His teeth easily pierced through the skin and left deep scratches on his arm. The goal was fulfilled – the bottle clattered to the floor and rolled away into the far corner of the room. But before I could be happy, there was a thud. The next moment, I saw Akara flying across the room, and a man who, with a pained grimace on his face, kicked him.

Suddenly, the situation became a stalemate. Holding onto his bitten hand, the enraged man approached me step by step. I could barely move because of the pain in my ribs. A cold sweat ran down my back.

"You're going to pay dearly for this!" "Stop it!" he hissed.

He came up to me and grabbed my hand.

"I'm going to break your arm first."

I felt a lot of pain in my forearm. It felt like my hand was being squeezed in a vice. I couldn't believe that a person could have such power. But despite the pain, I felt a small canister in my pocket with my other hand. I pulled it out abruptly and pressed the button. A jet of pepper solution hit the eyes of the man, who was practically in a stop. I deliberately waited for the moment when he wouldn't have a chance to dodge or defend himself. A deafening roar rang out. Finally, the vise on my arm loosened and I was able to crawl away from my opponent, who was pressing his palms to my watery eyes.

It wouldn't keep him long, but I just needed to buy time. The man, already beginning to see again, loomed over me. Suddenly, the door opened with a bang. It was the police I called before I entered the house. Several officers quickly assessed the situation and restrained Himari's father, who was trying to resist. At that moment, due to the pain in my chest and arm, I lost consciousness.

THE FATHER'S POINT OF VIEW

We left Hikaru's house and went home. My wife was asleep in the back seat, and I was lost in thought. For some reason, I was gripped by some kind of oppressive feeling about my son all evening. I decided that from that day on, I would not put pressure on him. Let him live the way he wants to. After all, he is already an adult and can decide for himself what to do and how to do it.

I was interrupted from my thoughts by a phone call. An unknown number appeared on the phone.

— Hello.

— Hello, are you Izumi's father?

— Yes, what happened?

— Your son was admitted to the hospital after the incident. He's in serious condition.

"What incident?"

— Please come to the hospital, we will tell you everything.

— Okay, I'm on my way.

"Honey, what's wrong?" "What is it?" his wife asked anxiously, waking up.

I could barely get the words out.:

— Izumi is in the hospital. He's in serious condition.

We went to the hospital. I blamed myself the whole way. Memories of how I had put pressure on my son came back to my mind. I was afraid I wouldn't have time to apologize to him.

When we arrived, a woman met us. We sat down on a bench, and she began to tell us what had happened.

She told us everything she knew. As it turned out, our son called the police to a house, reporting domestic violence. When the officers arrived at the place of the call, they saw the beaten girl and our son, who was trying to protect her on his own. After the police arrived, Izumi lost consciousness. Both were taken to the hospital, and the man was detained until the children came to their senses.

We asked if we could come into the room. To which we were told that it was possible, but not for long. When we entered and saw our son, a feeling of horror gripped us. His face was completely pale, and there was a deep cut on his cheek. Bandages wrapped around his entire chest and arm. Unable to bear this picture, my wife immediately left, and after a couple of minutes I followed her. We were told to go home because, due to some complications, the operation would begin in the morning. We left in silence, unable to utter a word.
