Hello everyone! Here's another installment of art and my sleep-deprived ramblings!
Let's start with Calixtus because he's great, lol. So, it actually took me a while to get used to his scars because I always forgot where they were supposed to go. Actually, that still happens. He has a pretty straighforward design, sorta fancy because his family are merchants. The business is managed by his mom, but he was starting to take over after he went back home. Calix does his best to look neat, but he has a habit of trying to hide some of his scarring with his hair.
Next up is Adamos! He likes to say his gray hair is all because of Aster, which isn't true, but a good part of it probably is. He gets a fancier coat because he's the Archmage, but I wanted to keep the mages more or less the same. Basically, they have a work uniform, but the higher the rank the fancier the coat.
Also, a lot of mages have accessories because, like crows, they like shiny things. Mostly though, it's because they put useful spells into the stuff they wear. In the magic system of Dreamseer, materials like gems, crystals and metals hold onto magic. Jewelry combining the different properties of these materials amplify magic or help stabilize it.
I've shown this a couple of times with Aster. His earring, glasses, the chain of his glasses and his brooch are all magic-imbued artifacts of his own making.
Anyway, I added color to this sketch later, but it made his wrinkles a little less visible. I think he would be happy about that. He's a little vain and, unlike Aster, has long hair by choice. Oh, I also did a little doodle of him being done with Aster's nonsense.
And finally, here's a page of a practice comic I did for Dreamseer. I never did more because I'm lazy. It was fun to practice paneling and I think I was trying to see what sort of style I would go with if I ever made a comic. This was a while ago, but I'd probably go with something like this if I ever did a proper comic, just because I love black and white comics.
Thank you all for looking at my art and reading my little commentary. Also, sorry about my messy writing!
