"Gaby!" the girl called "Gaby! they finally here!"

Another girl running out from one the hut. Looking around, she looks relieved seeing them there. She quickly approaching them, her team followed behind her.

"Thank goodness you're here," the girl shook their hands "I am Gaby Ferdinand, leader of the Shannon Rose."

"I'm Rein Barrett, we are the Wishing Star."

"Never heard of it," said the tall man wearing a googles “So.. you’re not the rescue team?”

"Andy! don't be rude," yelled Gaby.

"No worries.." Rein explained "Our team just got established this year."

"We already informed the HQ, they’ll be here in two months. We decided to look for you, because we are the closest..” said Eleanor.

"Ah, i see.. thank you.." removing his googles "I'm Randy Elam by the way."

Gaby’s other team members introduced themselves, they were Dearka and Jerry.

The singing girl smiled at them "I'm Olivia Reedy."

"We are about to have dinner," said Gaby “come join us..”

They followed them to the village, Rein noticed the locals were peeking from inside the huts. Sitting near the fire pit, Gaby asked Olivia and Randy to bring out the food.

“Smells nice,” Kincade sniffing.

Rein felt his stomach grumbling.

"It's the local delicacy," Gaby smiled.

They were horrified when Olivia and Randy returned with piles of roasted multi legged insect like creature. Rein lost his appetite.

“Dig in,” Gaby ushered “It’s delicious..”

“Uh..” looking at his plate.

“What’s the matter?” asked Dearka, slurping the meat from its shell.

“Well..” Rein glancing at his friends who also reluctant to eat it.

“Ah! I forgot the sauce,” said Randy. He ran to the hut and returned with a bowl gelatinous blue sauce “Here you go,” smearing it over Rein’s plate.

“Wow! This is delicious!” Kincade raising his plate “the taste, the texture-”

Rein encouraged himself. Stabbing the meat with the fork and took a small bite. His eyes widen, it’s good.. “it’s like a shrimp..”

“Really?” Garland asked. He took off his mouth guard and began eating it “You’re right boss! this is good!”

The other also tried it and everyone loves it. Fabian mentioned the sauce enriched the taste even more.

“Who made this sauce? I want the recipe?” said Kincade.

“I’ll teach you later,” Randy grinned.

Randy and Olivia went back to the hut and returned with several wooden mugs before distributing it to them. Inside was a red liquid.

"By the way.. what happened to your ship?" Rein asked.

"A huge fluffy creature attacked us," Jerry explained.

“We got attacked by that thing too!” Kincade waving his fork.

“You encountered it?” Olivia shocked “but how did you escaped from it?”

“We can’t.. so we defeated it..” said Rein.

“Eh? But how? Our anti asteroid gun did nothing to it,” Dearka perplexed.

“Ours is fitted with new weapon to stun a large creature,” Sierra said smugly.

“Really? That’s great-”

“It didn’t work thought, we are saved by the underwater creature,” Garland chimed in.

“I’ll increased the power later!” Sierra huffed.

“That bright transparent creature with tentacles?” asked Randy.

Rein nodded.

“That thing prevented us from fishing!” Jerry groaned.

"By the way, how did you escaped from that cloud thing?” asked Rose.

“We had to ditched our ship and landed with transport craft..” Gaby looks sad “Our ship.. my mentor will be devastated if he know..”

“We lost everything, food, equipment..” said Dearka “Thanks to Jerry quick thinking, he managed to snatched the distress beacon-”

“It was hectic, as soon as we landed, we were surrounded by another creature..” Randy shook his head.

“Hestia was bitten..” Olivia murmured.

“Fortunately we were saved by the locals..” said Gaby. “Together we defeated those creatures..”

“Hestia?” asked Rein “Is she-”

“Oh, she’s still alive.. barely.. we tried everything, she has been unconscious for more than a month now..”

“Where is she?” Fabian stood from his seat.

“In that hut, are you?” Gaby face went bright.

“Lead the way..” Fabian hurriedly went to the hut along with Gaby.

“Your team don’t have a medic?” asked Rein.

“Tia- she’s our medic,” explained Olivia “We only know some first aid..”

“At least we don’t have to worry anymore..” Randy sighed in relief. He waved at the locals still hiding in the hut and called them while motioning his hands “Guys! It’s okay, they are our friends!”

Seeing Rein confused, Jerry explained to them it was the simple sign language they developed to conversed with locals. Jerry to signing with his hands at the locals, telling them not to be afraid.

The locals slowly walked out and approached them, they looks like a hairy ball with limbs, there were maybe only a hundred of them. They hid behind the Shannon Rose, looking at Rein and the others with their round eyes. One of them was wearing a rope on its head, Gaby told him he was the leader of the tribe. Eleanor waved at them, Rose however grabbed one of the smallest children which caused the other to freaked out and ran back to the hut.

“Rose!” Rein yelled.

“What she do to her?” Olivia asked.

She ignored him and proceed to lift her up and down. After being lifted several times, she began waving her hands and chirping, it seemed she was happy. The other children began running towards them, raising their hands, maybe asking to be lifted like her. Some were asking Rein and the others to lifted them too; Laylah ran away, hiding behind a tree, however the they thought she was playing with them and began chasing her around.

 

After playing with the small locals, they sat on the fire pit while the locals were having dinner. Fabian and Gaby returned with Hestia. Gaby’s team overjoyed seeing her and hugged her. She smiled at them, although she’s still looked pale.

“Is she alright?” Rein asked Fabian.

“She should be fine now..” he replied, sitting beside Kincade.

“What happened to her?” Eleanor wondered.

“The bite was venomous, fortunately it is not lethal.. to us at least..” Fabian added.

“I see..”

“Thanks for saving Tia,” Olivia handing them another drinks.

Now it’s a blue colored drink, the smells was fragrant. Rein, Kincade and Fabian took a sip.

Fabian was delighted “This taste like coffee!”

“Do you like it?” Gaby asked.

“Yeah,” Rein raising his wooden mug.

“It’s made of dung of small creature roaming the forest,” Olivia smiled “The leaf they ate-”

Rein and Kincade spat out their drinks. Eleanor giving them napkins.

“Oh, we are sorry for not telling you first..” said Gaby while Olivia giggled.

“Nah, it's fine, I am just surprised,” Rein wiping his mouth.

“Why are you two surprised?” Fabian continued drinking “We have a coffee made of dung too back at home."

Garland and Sierra chuckled.

Rein awkwardly laughed before taking another drink. He looked at Gaby “By the way.. we should head back now..”

Pausing for a moment, she finally nodded and told Dearka and Jerry to fly their transport ship to Rein’s ship.

“But Gaby.. what if those creature returned..” said Olivia.

Gaby glanced at the locals and murmured “I’m worried too..”

“Uh.. You said they defeated those creature?” Rein asked.

“It’s the other one we worried of..” said Gaby.

“There are this creature that have been hunting them for years, killing more than half.. they were forced to lived in that cave.. until our arrival..” said Olivia.

“We fend them off thrice already..” Randy added.

“You sure they will be fine?” Rein looking at the locals “We could stay and help-”

“Yes.. they should- they have to survive on their own.. we had taught them how to defend themselves.. the rest is up to them..” Gaby murmured.

“But-”

She just shook her head and left with Olivia and Garland to talked with the locals. Rein informed his friends they will be leaving the planet.

“So soon?” Rose looks disappointed.

“Cade, Fab.. go back to our ship first,” Rein glanced at Hestia “bring her with you too..”

They nodded and left.
