The silence of the night shattered the moment Suhaan leaned closer.
He lowered himself gently, sitting on his knees in front of his trembling wife. His voice was calm—far too calm for what he was about to say.
“Hmmmm,” he smiled faintly, “you should have met him… one last time.”
Her body froze.
That comfort in his tone… it didn't fit. It was terrifying.
Her eyes widened, glassy with disbelief.
“W–what?” she whispered, her voice breaking.
He simply looked at her, unmoved.
Then her throat tightened, her words rushed out, trembling.
“Last time…? What do you mean by last time?”
“Jay!!!” she screamed. “Jay, where are you!?”
The room echoed with her cries.
Outside, the wind howled as if the world had heard her pain. The peaceful sky began to turn. Clouds gathered without warning, swallowing the moonlight.
Lightning flashed violently, cutting across the night sky.
Thunder followed, deep and angry.
It was going to rain.
But inside the house, the storm had already begun—one far colder than the rain outside.
The storm grew wilder.
Rain crashed against the windows, the wind shrieking through the cracks.
SSHHHRRKKZZTTTT.
A bolt of lightning tore the sky apart.
Tied to the chair, her body trembled violently.
She jerked her arms, twisted her wrists, trying to break free.
“Just untie me!” she screamed.
“Why are you doing this?! Let me go to Jay!”
Her voice cracked. Her breath stuttered.
Tears streamed down her face, but she didn’t stop.
Choking on her own sobs, she cried,
“What harm did my child ever do to you!?”
The ropes cut into her skin.
Her strength began to fade. Her vision blurred.
“I… I can’t live…” she gasped, barely above a whisper,
“…without my child…”
And then—everything went dark.
She fainted.
Suhaan just scoffed.
