Last fall, I saw a moose with two babies resting in the morning. The babies were lying next to each other with one laying its head on the other's shoulder - it was adorable.
After about an hour, a magpie showed up and started to try to chase them away so it could forage in the grass where they were all lying together. It did not take long for the mama moose to get fed up with the magpie yelling and diving at her. In the end, she stood up and left with her two babies, leaving the lone magpie to happily hop around where they had been napping. Unbelievable.
