Weeks went by, and as time went by I got closer to Aris. But I understood something: I don't need to be accepted by just one person... or many.
If someone is genuinely interested in you, it shows in actions, not words.
I get along with Aris, yes, but I know that maybe she noticed someone else. I admit it: it hurt at first. A lot.
But now I understand. It's better to walk away before my light goes out.
Maybe in another dimension or reality things were different. Maybe there we were together.
But in this one... I've already taken a different path.
And I'm not going to let the actions of others affect me anymore, especially someone who didn't even take a moment to ask if I was okay when I was sick last week.
Dax stops his walk, looks up at the sky, he smiles with some nostalgia and says
“I don't need someone to be better or to approve me I just need myself and maybe in time I will find someone to love me as I am without having to pretend I'm someone different ”
at that moment Dax looks down and looks ahead and saw Aris in front of him a few steps away and their gazes crossed but instead of approaching her Dax just smiled and said
"Take care of yourself "
he turned around turning his back to Aris and walked away while the sun hides between the mountains.
Dax is a young man who, as he begins his senior year of high school, feels he has nothing to smile about... until he meets a girl who turns his world upside down. Without realizing it, Dax embarks on a journey that will lead him to rediscover the person he used to be long ago.
