Tiring Life

Sometimes, you adventure to know where your life is headed.
I have walked quite a long way; this makes me warry.
Every step I take increases the weight which I carry.
A small burden, easy to lift
Becomes a crushing pressure and hard to shift.
If only I could always walk on solid ground.
Then I would not mutter a single sound.
But, life is never fair.
A thick mud I step, easy to impair.
The weight of my life helps me sink.
Easing me into the ground, I struggle and fight.
I am tired, I am stuck, I cannot get out of this plight.
If only there was a way to make this burden shrink.
It is now that I think to myself, what if I just let go?
This package I carry everywhere with me.
What if I let it sink down down below;
Will it make life lighter, easier for me to flee?
Optional Additional Stanza:
But I do not let go or give in.
I pull these straps back up facing forward with a grin.
Unfair and twisted, life is no cake walk.
Forward I resume, ready for any shock.
