William Halt, co-owner of Off Center Flashback and co-writer for this comic pitched the idea of Hero-comic to me in late 2009 or early 2010. He had envisioned it as a comic take on brothers and superheroes. He knows I have a soft spot for stories about brothers because he is, in point of fact, my brother.
The idea for Mark was to introduce him strong and then over time do something with him no one would see coming.
The relationship between Roy and Mark is meant to be somewhat strained. Maybe they were close once, maybe not. Both brothers have an opinion about that.
Curiously, in the way back, William was going to be the artist on this book and we had wildly different ideas about how Mark should look. For instance I saw him as bald. William liked the idea of suggesting a golden age superman hair cut, a kind of Pompadour type thing. I didn't like the idea.
Over the years as William turned in more and more artwork for the characters it grew on me. When I replaced William as the artist so he could concentrate on our other comic, Ridgley Forge (Which is insanely awesome and you should do yourself the favor of checking it out) I kept the faux Pompadour. It had grown on me.
Also, this is our first giant lizard monster!
Thanks for coming back, or if this is your first time here: Welcome!

Heropolis is a city filled with Superpowered heroes and villains. Roy Miller has no superpowers, much to the chagrin of his father. Roy's brother Mark is the C-list Superhero Major Impact, but isn't much to write home about besides.
Hero-Comic follows the life and times of Roy, Mark, their father Marcus, and Roy's girlfriend Barb.
Head's up: This comic contains strong language and should not be viewed by children.
