I don't know if you remember when I said that when my writing partner/co-owner/co-creator/brother Bill pitched this comic to me he had a couple of jokes already? Well, I did say that. I just checked.
This issue was one of them.
Bill is hilarious. I'm not even kidding.
As far as the look goes, I have a personal confession, I very rarely draw blood or effects. Clara puts them in after. The script for this issue has this as the last panel description, "We see Roy standing over a beaten and bloody Übel. Roy has a hammer in the upswing in his hand, it is trailing a quantity of blood."
I took a look at that and thought to myself, "Nope."
I'm not against drawing blood or anything. Partly it's that I draw about four to six issues in a sitting and I don't want to slow myself down by drawing too many effects. Mostly, though, I really like blood effects rather than drawn blood. Because the effect can be done without outlines without looking too odd.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to subscribe!
