I've touched on this before but the restaurant Arby's and this comic have a history.
In late 2009 or early 2010 Bill and I dined at an Arby's and broke the first dozen or more strips over Jamocha shakes and sandwiches.
We wrote this strip in honor of that, and if the story stopped there it would be nice. But it didn't.
Because here's the deep dark secret of our team of writers:
All of them have a better memory than Bill and I. All of them.
We basically write a joke and forget it, sometimes even as we're writing it. I'm serious. That happened once.
But out team of eidetic super writers, they never forget. Like elephants or abuse survivors.
Clara quoted the line, "The fucks meat about a Jamocha shake?" to us often. We of course, had totally forgotten we had written the line and laughed like hacks at our own fucking joke every time she said it.
We are not proud.
In fact, now that I really think about it, It's more than a little conceivable that the only reason Clara ever agreed to work on this comic was that line of dialog.
As I said, Arby's and this comic have a history.
Man, I'm dying for a Beef 'N Cheddar right now.
