Groot of the Matter

When I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, I was surprised that Groot wasn’t super annoying. The memes were enough to drive me crazy before I had seen it. I also started watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine recently. One of the early episodes featured a character named Tosk who repeatedly said, “I am Tosk.” My brain naturally made the association with the Groot meme. Check out this clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_PekaFyR9M) of Tosk to see how similar it is to Groot’s dialogue. There are sections where he talks more, but he uses the simple phrase, “I am Tosk,” frequently.
