The boy wakes up finding that he is starving, hoping to find some food. The boy heads out of the cabin to hear the the forest is starting to wake up with him, as the birds start to sing and the bugs start to buzz around him annoyingly might I add.

As he starts to explore to find some food, he sees a deer not the one from before from the lake who he has named "Duneyrr," a name he has used from one of the words his father said in the dream. He decides to made a spear something he remember playing with a friend when he was young "Hunt The Prey," but now with a bit more of a sharp end instead of a pillow or foam.

So when he is finished he decides to use it to hunt the deer. Needing to get closer to it, get closer to the deer he comes up near it not right next to it, but waiting behind a tree as soon as he feels like he is getting close enough to strike, he hears some noises coming from in front of the deer, big thuds, as he slowly looks at the deer he sees something getting closer to the deer.

It is a big black bear! Bigger then the boy tenfold, as he gets closer he runs up to the deer and slashes at it hitting it's face, blinding the deer. After it gets hit it tries to run away because of the bear, and you know the pain it runs into a tree hitting itself.

As it does the the bear runs over to it and steps on it to stop it from moving, as it does that it starts to eat the live body of the deer gnawing on it flesh. Then he starts he catches the scent of the boys sweat from when he was building the spear.

He walks to the tree looking around trying to find the scent of the boy, who he doesn't know is there but when he gives up and heads back to the corpse of the now dead deer. As this is happening the boy sweats more as the experience, scared the boy out of hunger for a bit.

As he turns to walk away the bear looks up and sees the boy trying to run, as he does so he stands there looking at the boy with his blood red eyes, saying straight to the boy "Don't come closer if you do you will be laying here on the floor with me eating you."

The boy understands and slowly backs off the body, and the bear. When he gets closer to the cabin he walks over and notices a rabbit hopping along he aims the spear at it trying to hit it luckily for him he hits the rabbit.

So he has enough food for the day going to the front of the cabin to look through the books to find something to cook the rabbit to eat it. As he does he sees something  about traps and tells himself to remember to read that after he is done eating and getting ready to sleep.

But before that happened he goes outside to clear some small land of grass, puts some stones around the fire pit, and then puts some wood in upside down cone, to have some small sticks and thatch under the cone to start the fire.

He sets it on fire as soon as he does that he starts to skin the rabbit, the boy starts to gag while looking at the skinned rabbit. He puts it on a stick and starts to cook it while thinking about what he can do while he is out here.
