You wake up around 11.50 pm. Being used to it you simply grab the book you're currently reading before heading out. You quickly reach your usual spot where Yuki and Zero never look, right behind the school, on the side that had no windows. You knew they never looked there because there was no reason anyone would be there, since you couldn't see the night class from here. This actually played to your advantage since this meant it was quiet and you wouldn't be disturbed by anyone.
After a good while of reading you got the feeling you were being observed. Thinking someone might have seen you you quickly jumped up, book behind your back, standing ready to knock somebody out if you had to. "Who's there?" you ask, rather loudly, but still cautiously.
A young male with green eyes and blond hair appear from the shadows, and you realize quickly it's someone from the night class. "I could ask you the same thing" he points out casually. "I asked you first" you retort, feeling like a child right after you said it. "Alright, but if you want me to answer first you have to tell me what you're doing here as well" he said, still completely calm. After staring at him for a while you simply nod your head to tell him you had a deal. "Alright, I'm Takuma Ichijo from the night class, nice to meet you" he say with a smile that could make you weak in the knees. "The name's (f/n) (l/n), I'm from the day class. Pleasure's all mine" you finish, realizing you've been really childish and impolite the whole conversation. "I've heard about you before, two of my friends have told me about you..." you add, leaving out the fact that they both had crushes on him. He didn't need to know that.
Remembering that you had promised to tell him what you were doing you pulled the book out from behind your back. "I was reading. This place is really quiet so I usually come here" you tell him with a smile. He looked kind of shocked by your change of mood, but something else felt off. It was like he also got shocked when you told him your name... Might just have imagined it, though. "Could I join you then?" he asks, holding up a book of his own. You give a quick nod to tell him it was alright before sitting down again.
After sitting and reading in silence for a while he chose to speak up again. "You never really answered my question. I wanted to know why you're up at this time of night if you're in the day class" he states, looking straight at you. "That's a completely different question, you asked what I was doing here, not why" you point out, plainly, not even bothering to look up at him. "You have a fair point, but I still would like you to answer" he pushes, apparently rather curious about the subject. Seeing how determined he was you decided to actually look up from your book and look him straight in the eye. "Well, in that case you have to tell me why you're here, seeing as I've never seen you here before" you say, trying to get in an agreement with him. "I asked you first" he said plainly, with a smirk, making you sigh heavily. "I couldn't sleep. If you want a continuation to that you'll have to tell me first" you say, not wanting to lose this one, no matter how silly you felt fighting over something so unnecessary, like children.
"I got tired of the night class and wanted some time for myself. This seemed like a good place" he stated plainly. "But why didn't you leave when you saw that I was here?" you ask, feeling unsatisfied with the answer. "You first" he said with another smirk, making you realize that you had lost anyway. You give him a tiny pout before answering. "I usually wake up just before midnight, mostly because of a nightmare..." you finish, looking up at the sky. Takuma could have sworn he saw a tear in the corner of your eye, but just as he was about to hug you, you quickly turned around with a huge grin. "Your turn" you said excitedly. Because of your quick mood change he got startled and jumped a little in his seat, making you giggle furiously. When he finally got out of his shocked state he started laughing too.
When the two of you finally managed to calm down you decided that you weren't going to let him off the hook that easily. "Seriously though, I really want to know" you said, looking at him seriously again. "Well..." he started, obviously thinking about it. "You seemed interesting, and not nearly as annoying as all the other people I deal with on a daily basis. And I can now conclude that I was right about you being interesting" he said with a smile and a little laugh at the end. This made you blush for some reason and you also did a little laugh, way more nervously than his, though.
Realizing the sun was up you hastily checked your watch, seeing that you would be late for your lesson unless you ran. You'd miss breakfast, but there was nothing to do about it now. You quickly stood up and explained that you had to go to class. "I'm so sorry for keeping you" he apologized. "It's not your fault, I should have been keeping track of time... Anyway, I'll be here tonight as well, join me if you want!" you said while turning around to walk away. As you finished your sentence you started running to class, not waiting for him to respond.
Author's note! Sorry for late update, school is killing me with all the national exams, and then they decided that we were gonna host a concert this week too. I actually had to stay in school until 10 pm this friday. I hope that explains my case a little, and thank you for reading this far //Yours truly, Handsomesquid :3
