With the fish in hand the boy moves over to his slaughter point far away so the blood of the now dead fish doesn’t attract unwanted attention. Such as Háski the bear of bloodied eyes.
Now the boy takes his knife prepares the fish but unfortunately for the boy he sees that the fish doesn’t have fur for the boy to take off instead he realizes that the fish has scales. This puzzles the boy because now he has to take off each scales individually.
After hours of peeling off the scales of the fish he finally can go back to his home. But he sees that the full moon is out tonight in other words he needs to be careful. The boy starts walking home as he looks around stopping once in a while stopping to see if he can hear anything around him when he is by the lake he sees something white as snow across the way.
The thinks he is seeing a ghost from his dream but he is sure that is his dog (The one from The Wolf’s Discovery (Part One)) When the wolf realizes the boy is looking at the wolf walks away from the boy. When the boy looks for the wolf he sees nothing the only thing he has but the memory of the once lost dog.
Finally when the boy goes back to his home he goes and cooks the now unscaled fish. After he eats the fish he heads inside and prepares to read a book about keeping food longer something about smoking the food.
After reading the book he figures if he goes up against that bear again he needs to be prepared so he figures he can prepare a good spear some type of caltrops. (The boy has a decent sized knife in his pocket.)
The boy decides to go to the waterfall to clean himself again and he sees a whetstone on the floor he grabs it and thinks he can use this to help his knife and spear if he prepares them everyday. He feels like he should read something about traps to help him get more food.
He goes back into the house and takes out a book that looks to help him trap animals. He finds something called 'Spring Snare' seems to be a good thing for what he's looking for. So he goes out near the lake and then sets it up so he can get food without even being there.
After he sets a few of those up (5) he decides to go back into the house and start to read Pan again since it helps him get relaxed. He gets into bed and thinks "I think I will survive this."
