It's been a couple of days since you joined the night class. Your hormones, or whatever it was playing with your head, seemed to have calmed themselves somewhat, but saying that you didn't still feel that weird feeling around Takuma would be a lie. Then there was the fangirls. Rima had been right when saying you'd get used to it, since you barely noticed them anymore. And as for the night class in general, you had to say that you were now getting along with everyone rather well, and that you felt as if they had accepted you into their group. Three in particular had gotten really close with you, and you basically spent all your time awake with them: Rima, Senri and of course, Takuma.
Speaking of Takuma, you, along with the rest of the "group" consisting of Rima, Senri, Hanabusa, Ruka, Akatsuki and you, were approaching that particular male as he was stood outside Kaname's bedroom. "Make sure you get some rest" you heard him say, being the considerate guy he was. "Sleep well" he then continued with what sounded like a low sigh before turning around, seeing all of you. "Seems president Kuran has locked himself in his room" Rima stated plainly, also giving him the indication that all of you were there for the same reason as him.
"Alright. So, what have you done this time, Hanabusa?" Akatsuki asked, rather monotonically for that type of assumption. "I didn't do it! Besides, if I did, like always, he'd have punished me in front of everyone" Hanabusa then shot back, gradually going from angry to plain dejected. "That's true" Akatsuki simply stated, and nobody really disagreed. At this point, that was obvious even to you.
"I wouldn't worry. I'm sure he just has a few things on his mind right now" Takuma then said getting back to the topic at hand. As he did, he wore another one of those damned attractive smiles. Seriously, that smile of his didn't even leave you in your dreams, it was always on your mind. It's like you were being haunted by your friends attractiveness. 'I seriously need to talk to somebody about this. Only question is: Who?' you thought as you considered the three friends that you felt as if you could comfortably open yourself up to.
Well, Takuma is definitely out of the question... That only leaves Rima and Senri. But Takuma and Senri were really close, not to mention roommates. To add to that, this felt like a 'girl problem', so you should probably go ahead and ask Rima.
"Well, that's enough. Let's all go to bed" Takuma then said, snapping you out of your thoughts. You were just about to ask Rima to follow you to your room, when another new voice interrupted that action. "Master Takuma?" said the voice that sounded like it came from a female. Turning around to the direction of the voice, you saw a girl with glasses and a maid outfit holding a huge stack of books. "Here they are; all the books you requested. Would you like me to take them to your room for you?" she asked, and you couldn't help but snicker at this. You knew he read a lot, but this was on another level completely.
"Ah, yes.. Please.. That would be... Perfect, thank you" he answered, seeming almost at the loss of words for some reason. "You saving up for our reading meets?" you asked him with a hint of sarcasm and a smirk. 'Thank god I learnt to conceal the blush at least...' you thought to yourself as you acted casual and confident as ever. "Wow, how did you know?" he said with a smile, sarcasm practically oozing from his every word. "Because I know everything, of course" you said with a smirk as the two of you suddenly started giggling at your own silliness. The others had fortunately gotten used to you two acting like this, so they didn't even bother to question it.
"Where is Lord Kaname?" the maid then asked, gaining your attention yet again. "Do you need him for something?" Takuma asked curiously while you simply listened, growing somewhat interested in the matter. "A guest, who will be visiting the dorm, is requesting permission to enter" she explained, holding out a platter with a pen and a paper on a clipboard. Takuma then cautiously walked over to look at the clipboard, as to check who it was that was requesting permission to enter the dorm.
Takuma then suddenly gasped as his aura suddenly changed. "This can't be! Why is he...?!" he freaked, even cutting his own sentence off. In curiosity you decided to go check what the paper said. Although, looking at the paper didn't really give you more of an idea who exactly was coming. "Is something wrong, Takuma?" Senri then asked as if the male in front of him wasn't clearly panicing. "Who's that?" you ask curiously as you continue looking over his shoulder.
"This says... that my grandfather... is going to come here tonight!!!" he panicked. Well, if it was just Takuma's grandfather, then that explained why you had never heard the name before. Whether he was known among vampires or not was still not something you knew, but you could conclude that you at least wasn't just ignorant in not knowing who it was. The seven of you then decided to head down to the lounge, to sit down calmly and talk about this in a collected manner.
"Wasn't your grandfather..." Akatsuki started awkwardly, trying to get the conversation going. "Isn't he the..." Hanabusa chimed in, making you very aware of the fact that that man apparently was known throughout the vampire society. "That's him. In the human world, there's not a single business venture of which his company is not somehow involved" Takuma began explaining, and you simply felt your eyes grow larger at each word he uttered throughout that sentence. 'His family is that influential?! Jesus, he does not give off that vibe!' you thought to yourself as you continued listening to him talking.
"The Ichijo group was founded by him. In the vampire world, he is the patriarch of one of the most distinguished aristocratic families. Asato Ichijo, also known as "Ichio". And as a member of the senate, he's the vampire with the most seniority" he then finished his explanation and your head continued filling with questions. This would all mean that Takuma himself was a member of one of the most distinguished aristocratic families. Furthermore, you remembered Kaname telling you that the senate had a lot of influence on vampire society, and were basically the rulers after the purebloods. So, that would mean his family is a big deal in vampire politics. Seriously, that was what blew your mind the most about this situation. The nice, sweet hearted and light going Takuma was actually from a big shot family that partially ruled over this entire society.
"But I still don't get it" Akatsuki then said, breaking the silence and your thought process at the same time. "Why is he coming here?" he then continued, looking confusedly at Takuma. "I don't know" he simply said, shaking his head. That mesmerizing smile of his nowhere to be seen. "We have nothing to fear" Ruka then stated, making you all turn your attention toward her. "I understand the senate is powerful. They are the highest governing body in our society and demand our respect, but in the end they're not the ones who rule us" she said calmly.
"I know, that's true. But still, I just... I don't want him to come here and disturb the relative peace this dorm has established. For Kaname's sake, too" Takuma then explained, and you couldn't help but feel for him. It can't be easy to worry that much about your own family in that kind of way. Sure, you didn't have any family worth mentioning, but having that kind of relation with the one you do have almost seems worse. 'Oh, I was about to forget!' you thought to yourself before turning your head to Rima.
"Hey, Rima? Do you think we could talk in private for a bit after this?" you ask, fidgeting with the hem of your nightgown slightly. "I think we're done here anyways, let's go" she said and stood up. The two of you walked out of the room, leaving the rest of them confused. Especially Takuma, he was completely dumbfounded by you just suddenly wanting to talk to her in private like that. He knew the two of you were good friends, but you never really asked anyone to talk in private before, and to tell the truth he was slightly let down he wasn't the first one you wanted to have a private conversation like that with. He didn't really know why that bothered him, but it did.
"Alright, spill it. What's up with you?" she asked as the two of you entered your room. You didn't answer her at first, but simply closed the door before plopping yourself down on the bed. She quickly followed suit, sitting across from you on your desk chair. "Girl talk. I'm really confused about something right now and I need you advise" you admitted, hugging your knees to your chest. "Takuma?" she asked, looking at you with a slight smirk. "H-How d-did you know?" you asked, cheeks immediately turning bright red. "Oh, sweetheart, you're like an open book. He's just too oblivious to notice, everyone else already has" she said propping her head up on her elbows.
"So, what is it you want advice on?" she asked smugly with another smirk on her face, making you feel really embarrassed. "I just can't figure out what my feelings for him are. I've never felt anything like this before, I don't know what to do!" you whined, hiding your face in your lap. "Well, the first one is rather obvious to anyone with eyes; you're in love with him" she stated as if it was the most clear thing ever. 'Love? Really? Well, I've never been in love before, so that makes sense. Wait! Does that mean I've fallen for my best friend?! Oh my god, I'm hopeless!' you thought to yourself as your face grew increasingly red.
"As for what to do about it, that's up to you. I'd say the two of you would make a really cute couple, and he probably likes you too. But, if and when you're ready to make that step is up to you" she said calmly, the smirk slowly getting replaced by a sincere expression. You looked down at your own hands upon hearing that. Well, there was no way you were making that first move now, that's for sure. It was all still too confusing to you, and besides, you really didn't want to make things awkward between the two of you. You liked having him around, and you wanted to keep having him around for as long as possible.
Author's note! Another update finished, yay! Alright people, not that anyone asked, but I'm gonna vent a little here. School is seriously killing me. I've been up until 3 am every night this week working on assignements, so if this chapter was bad, or the grammar was off, that's why. And the upcoming week looks like it'll be the same, so if you don't get an update next week, I hope you'll be paitient with me. I'll try to get it done, of course, but I'm really stressed. If you don't get it in time I promise you'll get two updates the week after that, though! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and that you're looking forward to the next one! //Yours truly, Handsomesquid :3
