Adam, Casper, and Myria were having a sleepover. Halfway through the night, there came a scratching from the closet, and a green glow from inside. Casper cowered, Myria was on edge, but Adam put his bionic arm model CRST-1060 into assault mode, and opened the door. There was no boogie man, simply a strange forest with strange plants.
Casper recognized this place,”It’s Tir na Nog, fairyland. We should go in! We gonna get some magic treasure!”
Myria shook her head,”It’s too dangerous for us. Even mages tread lightly in that realm because it’s perilous. What do you think, Adam?”
Adam nodded. “I’m all for adventure, but we need to be smart about this. I’ll contact Seed Sower. Casper, I think your powers are beginning to manifest,”
Casper began to sob,”They’ll.. Dissect me. Find out.. What makes me.. Tick,”
“No, Casper, we’ll talk to Mercy Greyson. Just to figure out a way to keep your safe while you sleep,” said Adam.
So they did. Mercy consulted with her boss Marcos, a hermetic mage past his physical prime.
They gave Casper magic chalk and told him to make a circle around his bed. That once he got in bed he wasn’t allowed to leave it until dawn. Casper sulked for a few days, but eventually came around.
“I’m sorry, Casper, but they didn’t run any tests on you, and you’ll sleep safely. Maybe in a couple years you’ll be able to control your powers,” said Adam.
There was a loud POP and suddenly another Tendog appeared. Wait, this one was different. Raccoon and cat, not raccoon and dog.
“Hello Casper. I’m going to tutor you to use your powers,” she said with a toothy grin.
Casper backed up, but then nodded. He approached her and got a business card from the creature. “Name’s Fen’gal, full time Avatar of Imbalance, part time powers tutor,”
Adam whispered to Myria,” Could Seed Sower have sent someone this quickly?” she asked.
Myria shook her head. “No, but with the power of her aura.. .if she wasn’t here to help, we wouldn’t still be alive,”
Tendog growled at Fen, who blew him a kiss. Tendog ran to Myria and hissed before tugging at her pants leg. He obviously wanted to leave.
Casper asked Fen,”Can you turn a different color? So we won’t be confused with Tendog?”
Fen nodded, and her fur brightened to a lighter blue,”This is the best I can do That all right?”
Casper nodded. Now they had two familiars, and three metahumans. Their little band was growing. Fen and Tendog were never very close, but they did tolerate each other, mainly because Tendog didn't have a choice. He read Fen's aura, and then his ears dropped and his tail drooped between his legs.
