I had enough of the wolves playing around me so I attempted to sneak away. The black wolf noticed and let out a low growl. He started to walk towards me and I froze not sure why he was growling at me. I looked at him curiosity shining in my eye. The wolf let out a howl and the others got out of the pond shaking off and coming over. The wolf flipped his head in a certain way and they all took off towards the way I had come. The black wolf tapped me with his saw as if to saw come one. That’s when I remembered dinner with the pack. I jogged behind the wolf barely keeping up with him. He turned to make sure I was following behind him. The run was quick and soon we were at the packhouse everyone shifted and pulled on clothing. I stayed in my feline form and laid in the grass watching everyone.
“Here kitty.”
I looked at the male that said that no doubt it was the large black wolf, his hair matched as well as his eyes. In his hands he held a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, both looked way too big for my slender frame. I grabbed the clothing with my teeth and I felt his hand pat my back. The clothing became long forgotten as I sought out a few more pets.
*************
I shifted behind a tree and pulled on the clothing. Like I had thought they were too big. I pulled the strings on the shorts as tight as they would go and the shirt hung off my shoulder no matter how much I fixed it. As I walked out from behind the tree the black wolves' face morphed into a smile as he spoke.
“Look at how slender and tiny you are, So cute.”
“Um thank you.”
“Whoa check out your eyes.”
“Oh. Yeah, I have the ability to see with cat eyes whenever I want or need them; I’m so used to being alone I leave them out all the time.”
“Magnificent,” a deep voice said.
I turned to find the voice and saw him. His build was fantastic; he was built like a god.
“Welcome to my pack.”
His eyes were roaming over my body I felt it. I didn’t address it, however.
“Thank you.”
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Leo, Yours?”
“My name is Darius & I’m the Alpha, The wolf that brought you here is Sam and he’s the beta.”
I nodded my head and played with the hem of the shirt nervously.
“Please come inside, we have much to talk about.”
“Oh… um okay.”
Slowly I followed behind the Alpha to what I assumed was his office. Many emotions went through me as I sat in the chair he told me to.
“How are you settling into your new home?”
“Uh. Well, actually it very nice. I love it.”
“I’m glad to hear that, you have no issues with anything? Everything is functional?”
“Indeed, everything works as it should.”
“Would you like anything to drink?”
“Could I have a glass of water please?”
“Are you sure you wouldn’t like anything else, some milk?”
I was taken aback by what he said. But I realized he didn’t mean it in a rude way.
“No thank you water would be fine.”
He left the room and I looked around the room. In the corner of the room, he had cat grass growing and it was tempting me to come to play with it. Quietly I stood up and walked across the room. I gingerly brushed my fingertips through the grass. That wasn’t enough for my inner kitty though. I pulled the grass a bit and ruffled it through my fingers again enjoying the feel of it. Someone cleared their throat and I whipped around embarrassed.
“Cat grass, you like that huh?”
“Yes,” I said blushing deeply completely embarrassed.
He handed me the glass of water and I sipped it slowly as he asked me more and more questions. He was very polite and respectful. I found myself enjoying his company. We left his office and went and sat down for dinner.
