Trouble in Othello

Selva and Lucca (again?)

Selva and Lucca (again?)

Sep 18, 2017

((Hey, I was using the d20 list to make random encounters between my characters. It came up 3 and 6, Lucca and Selva's numbers. At first I thought about changing them, but then I worked on this flash fiction. Enjoy!))

Selva entered the tavern and her lieutenants a few minutes later. They sat out of the way and were joined by an olive skinned man with dark wavy hair.

“Hello, Selva.” said the man,”Do you recognize me? It’s Lucca de la Sangre,”

“Oui, Lucca, I remember. Why did you call us here?” asked Selva. “The last meeting was a little more exciting, no? You landing on mon ship? Threatening moi y mon crew?”

“Yes, and I’m sorry about that. As a dragon I’m rather hot-blooded. Please don’t be offended. No harm came to anyone. Anyway, I’m here to discuss business,” said Lucca. He pulled out a box.

There was a small tetrahedral metallic structure inside.

“Take this with you on your travels. It will map the various dimensions. In exchange, I will supply your ship with resources. If it works well, I will provide you with a second ship and crew, hand picked and subordinate to you,” said Lucca.

“Picked by moi? Not made up of votre cronies?” asked Selva. She pulled a scroll from her pouch.

“Here is mon business plan. Odd for a pirate, non? Make votre own crew. Sail the 70 seas. You have the technology to create a ship like mien. Don’t be afraid, non? We must go. I wish you safe journeys, Sangre. Don’t contact me or my crew again, and don’t show up on our ship, or there will be non parley,” said Selva. She and her lieutentants left.

Sangre nursed his ale. He would make a crew from Seed Sower, and they would sail the dimensions, perhaps in a more worthy vessel.

Lucca and Selva have another meeting, this time in a tavern to discuss business. Short and to the point.
