I went to sleep at two in the morning because that was the time that Nelly had fallen asleep. In the morning I was woken up by my phone’s ringing.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Nelu. It’s Jake. Are you busy?”
“Well not anymore.” I sat up in bed.
“I wanted to know if you wanted to go somewhere with me?”
“I can’t, Nelly isn’t feeling well. So I was planning on taking care of him.”
“Oh, well I’ll call you later to see if you change your mind.”
“Sure.” Jake dropped the phone. I sighed. My plan was backfiring.

Mary had come over to do some homework with, so I had to spend my time doing my homework and running errands for Nelly.
“Can’t we just tell him that not doing homework once won’t kill anyone?” I placed my head in my arms.
“Nelu, you never do your homework anyway.” Mary laughed. She put a couple of chips into her mouth and sighed. We were trying to get some biology homework done but we weren’t getting anywhere.
“I should quite school and become a stripper.”
“Remember that if everyone who said that they wanted to be a stripper actually became on, then there would be no shortage of strippers. The industry would be full and competition would be extremely tough.”
“Thank you for bursting my bubble.” I sat up and actually started working. After a while I got up to go and use the bathroom, when I can back Mary was gone.
I took the stairs two at a time until I reached Nelly’s bedroom. Mary was just about to help him drink water.
“Don’t touch him.” I said pulling her away. I took the water out of her hands.
“Why? He wanted water and you were busy.”
“He’s sick. You would need a vaccine to prevent you from getting that sick too.” I explained. “My dad made it a rule.”
“Oh, so do I have to go to the hospital just so I can give your brother water?”
“Not really. We have a vaccine kit down stairs.” I gave Nelly some water to drink and sat on the side of the bed. My phone rang before I could say anything more to Mary. “Hello?”
“It’s Jake again.” Jake said nervously.
“Who is it?” Mary said coming closer.
“It’s Jake.” I said to her as I cover the phone. “He wants me to go out with him tonight.”
“Then why don’t you?”
“Well I can’t leave Nelly without someone to take care of him.”
“I’m not gonna die if you go out for a couple of hours Lu.” Nelly said sitting up. “Go out with your boyfriend.”
“He’s not my boyfriend.”
“Go out with him. You can give me that vaccine shot and I will take care of your precious twin for you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes!” Nelly and Mary said at the same time.
“Fine, I go out with him.”
“Isn’t Jake still on the phone?” Nelly asked.
“Oh, Jake, are you still there?” I asked timidly. Jake just laughed.
“I’ll pick you up in an hour’s time. That should be enough time for you to get ready. Don’t wear anything fancy.”
“Okay. Bye.” I hung up and turned to Mary and Nelly. “What should I wear?”
“Oh Nelu, you are so hopeless.” Nelly said rolling his eyes.

When Jake had finally arrived I was done getting myself ready. Jake had taken his father convertible and taken us to a drive in movie. The movie we were going to watch was the first Jurassic Park. Jake bought popcorn and cool drink for us.
“Hope you don’t mind. I needed company.”
“I’m not sure what to say to that.” I pretended to be offended.
“Well if it’s any comfort to you, you were the first that popped in to mind.”
“Thanks, for your concern.”
“You are so cute, you know?”
“I thought I was going for the sexy look when I dressed like this.” I crossed my arms and pouted a little.
“Nope, definitely cute and maybe adorable.” Jake pinched my cheek.
“My confidence has been crushed like that car.” I pointed to the screen. It was showing the t-rex attacking the cars.
“My apologies, Nelu.” Jake said laughing. We watched the movie, commenting when we thought that something was funny. After the movie we went to the beach.
“Why a beach?” I asked him as I unlaced my sneakers.
“I wanted to have a picnic with you.” Jake said as he grabbed a basket and blanket hidden in the back. He went to go set it up while I struggled with the laces. Mary had tied them while I was putting on my shirt, as it had taken for ever for us to get me the perfect outfit.
“I should have just gone barefoot.”
“What’s taking you so long?” Jake up to me.
“My shoelaces are stuck.” He kneeled by my feet and started on my laces. When my shoes were off his also pulled of my socks and helped me stand up.
“Ready?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I said taking a breath of the fresh night air. “To be honest I have never been on a date before, so I’m not really sure how they are supposed to go.”
“Well consider this the best date you have ever been on. And if I take you out again it’s only gonna get better.” Jake let me sit first before he joined me. We had the second most marvellous view of the sea and moon. I looked at Jake and saw the first most marvellous thing in the world. The wind blew his hair just right.
“You are such a romantic.” I laughed. Jake laughed with me. The light shone on his face at just the right angle as he laughed.
“What?”
“Nothing. I was just taken aback at how good you look in the moonlight.” My own words shocked me but there was no going back now. Jake laughed.
“I never thought you to be so bold.” He leaned over the food and came extremely close to my face. “It makes you look even cuter. Sexy even.”
“Then maybe I should carry on.” I said back, trying my damndest not to look at his lips. “You should move back, so I can see your face more clearly.”
“And what if I don’t?”
“Then I won’t get to enjoy your beauty fully.” He smiled and quickly kissed my lips before sitting back in his place.
“So what do you want to eat?” He asked casually.
