Synopsis:

In the year 3667, humans have depleted so much of Earth's resources that there's not enough food for everyone. In response, the government of Celest came up with the SoulMaker Program in which once you turn 18, you must take the Trial to determine if you're worthy enough for surviving on Celest. Only the most beautiful and the smartest soul can pass. The unsuitable ones are caste away to live in the poorest section of Celest: the Gray Area.

18 year old Eveline Greene passes the test as both smart and beautiful and is granted the privilege of living a carefree life. She doesn't need to wander the streets, looking for a job. She doesn't need to worry about tomorrow's food source.

But when she discovers the mysterious rebel group, known as the Forsaken, she begins to learn more about the world she lives in and of the secrets that the Celest government is holding. The Forsaken is made up of people who failed the Trial and they have the darkest secrets about the government.

Suddenly it's not about being beautiful or smart. It's about having the ability to survive to the next day.

Yo yo yo, what's up guys? I'm back in action with writing a novel!!! I'm participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge this year and this is my entry. I know that I've tried to complete the challenge for the last two years and failed miserably. But I promise you that this time I actually know what I'm doing.

I think the main reason why I failed so much for the last years was because I didn't really plan out my book really well. Like, I literally planned what I was going to write the night before the first day of November. ;-;

I'm planning to finish this novel so that I can actually publish it. This will be my third published novel. I'm very excited! Except this time I'll be publishing actual paper copies and not on Smashwords.

I've decided to do something slightly different this year: I'm going to write a sci-fi novel rather than a teen fiction. I wrote teen fiction novels for the last two years because it was easy; I didn't need to create a new word because I just needed to use the contemporary world. But I've actually done a lot of world building, plotting, and characterization for this novel. I did all my planning a month in advance and I even went to meet up with my English teacher for the story board planning. I'm very serious about this novel, haha. You should see all the paper I wasted on plotting and the multiple-never-ending pages on my google docs drive.

Sorry for the long author note, but I really wanted to be able to say as much as I can so that I don't have to say too much on my actual chapters. I'll be doing the usual "What do you think will happen next" thing like I used to on all my chapters (to fill up space lmao). For this year, I'll also dedicate chapters if you support this book (like vote or comment or both lmao).
