Creative Writing Peer Critique

I took two English classes in college, and then a creative writing class... but I could never get actual feedback on my writing during peer critique. Most of my classmates would spend all of their time rating how good my English was instead of paying attention to what the story was trying to do. They were super focused on how they should help me fix my English problems instead of doing the assignment of critiquing the story.
