I appreciate that in your take, the mermaid didn't have to become human to get love. I mean, why should someone change who they are for anyone? True love means acceptance. This is something I appreciated about Disney's the Little Mermaid. When Eric found out that Ariel was a mermaid, it didn't change anything. Heck, he put himself in danger for her.
Shortly after graduating from high-school on her birthday, Enthè Navy discovers that she is related to a society of undersea people with a long history. She finds herself discovering many passions through this advent of additional identity.
