I have had the pleasure of working with Kyrin as my student accompanist for Youth Chorus during the past 4 semesters at PALS Enrichment. The first time I taught this class, in the spring of 2017, Kyrin noticed that I did not have an accompanist, offered to fill this role, and has been co-teaching the class since the fall of 2017. For each class, the accompanist is required to play warm up scales, assist with teaching the students various musical pieces, and play numerous songs during practices and at our end of semester concert. Kyrin has exceeded my expectations in all of these areas.
*Dedication or pride in work done to the best of the candidate’s ability:
Kyrin demonstrates these attributes in the following ways:
Comes to class prepared
When needed, practices outside of class
Willing to suggest changes to songs or the curriculum so that they are more suitable for the students
Is concerned when a song is difficult to play or sing and takes the time to suggest and/ or integrate changes into the music.
*Congeniality and ability to work well with others:
Kyrin is a delightful teen and has had no difficulty connecting with the students in the class. Kyrin is well liked by everyone, adults and kids alike!
*Capacity for curiosity, imagination, or inventive thinking
Kyrin is extremely talented both musically and artistically. Kyrin demonstrates a keen ability for creative and imaginative thinking as evidenced by suggestions for song interpretations or inventive ways to teach the students in the class.
You will not be disappointed if you choose Kyrin as a teen intern. Kyrin is a hard working, dedicated, and friendly teen who demonstrates amazing artistic and creative talents.
