Hiya and happy new year! I thought I'd do an end of year review of sorts. Normally I get really mopey about the end of the year when I think about everything I wanted to accomplish in writing and didn't so I'm gonna try and make this more positive lol.
Rising Shards (+ Evy & Stella): RS had its *fifth* anniversary this year and had a big episode to celebrate that formally introduced a character I've been wanting to show for years now, Anastasia.
Reborn in a Fighting Game with My Rival: My first (and hopefully not the last 🥺🙏) premium web novel on Tapas finished its run and I'm very proud that I was able to write the story I had envisioned start to finish.
I'm hopeful 2026 will be a really big and exciting year for my web novels. I keep thinking about a certain pro wrestler that went on this big tear doing a story about winning a bunch of titles that was really great, and I'm daydreaming about doing that but with web novels (it makes sense in my head...) So with that in mind, here's what's coming up for my projects!
Rising Shards: You may ask why I would keep a web novel going for over five years, and it can be a hard one to answer. But I dearly love these characters and still have a lot to say with them, so we continue on! I may at some point "end" the series then just continue on in a sequel story if readership like completely drops but that'd be like a late in the year decision, we'll see where things are at for the sixth anniversary.

Evy & Stella: E&S will continue its transition of sorts to being not just about Evy & Stella, in my head I'm calling it RS: Faculty & Staff which isn't the most thrilling name, but if I do a sequel story thing with my 18+ side story that's probably what I'll call it? Expect lots of Alix and Pippi, Mahina, Caya, and more, while of course still getting fun times with Evy and Stella.
Settling Down with the Dark Lord: This was my entry in a new site's web novel contest, I'm not sure what happened with that site but the positive is this new yuri polycule series is coming to Tapas in 2026! Derby Ofohp, an anxious shut in trans girl, ends up meeting a dark lord who asks to marry her. Then some other dark lords join the mix! I hope you check it out!
Reborn in a Fighting Game with My Rival sequel: This is still in the early planning stages, but I really miss Amvery and Louise and their world so I want to do this one soon. My latest idea is somehow doing a full shonen type fighting series with a bit of a bigger cast, but I've changed my mind a bit about what I want

Settling Down with the Dark Lord: This was my entry in a new site's web novel contest, I'm not sure what happened with that site but the positive is this new yuri polycule series is coming to Tapas in 2026! Project Lilies: With RS being so long, I had the idea to do shorter yuri web novels, something like a 3-6 volume yuri manga with a smaller cast and scope, and to have one of these ongoing generally with my other stuff. The first two of these will be rewrites of some fanfics, and it's been fun planning that out so far. Like my other web novels, these will be in the same universe as RS, but a goal is to not have any be required reading, just fun shared worldbuilding to explore new locales in.
Collab Project: I am writing the scripts for a comic with my bestie that is very exciting! It will have some similar elements to my other work, but the tone is very different and overall something more diligently constructed, if that makes sense.

It was inspired by series like Bocchi the Rock, Watanare, Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Witch Watch, and lots more (maybe they'll form a band later since it was inspired by so many band stories?)! This coming Monday (9.15) there will be a special chapter to celebrate Rising Shards' fifth anniversary that kicks off a new story arc! The ongoing stories won't be dropped or anything, but a new element will be added to the mix. I hope you stop by and enjoy!
As I've said before, my hope is that this will be something that's an exciting treat for longtime readers, and a good jumping on point for new ones. I'm INCREDIBLY nervous about it and am not sure if I can actually get anyone new on board for the whole jumping on part, especially after a year of struggles and difficulties with the goals I'd set for myself that have me feeling very low.
The writing still brings good vibes to me at least, so even if this is a complete belly flop into an empty pool, you'll still have more fun, fluff, angst, and more with these characters who I've grown to love so dearly.

It's the last week of Reborn S1 and I'm getting kinda very emotional about it...so to help cope with that here's an update on my current projects. I talked about these a bit on my blog but my blog's kind of a mess so maybe it'd be better here.
Chiral's ongoing/upcoming projects (4.28.25 edition):
Rising Shards: Of course, my long running web novel is still going. It's going to be the FIFTH anniversary this September and I am planning a major episode for it (not like a scary one but something big to celebrate). I'm really really excited how this year's episodes are turning out and have lots more yuri with the Cani girlies for ya.
Reborn in a Fighting Game With My Rival continuation: First up, look forward to Inksgiving bonus chapters coming soon, I will likely put them in a series called "Reborn in a Fighting Game With My Rival Extras" or something similar. Past that, it is a very big goal for me to have some kind of sequel or second season. I'm not sure what form it would come in like if it's just gonna be within the series that's already up or in its own thing (it might be kinda cool to have RB be the series that gets individual entries for each instead of one big ongoing canvas of stories like RS). It's very very early on but I have a general tone, some crazy ideas, and a bit written for a sequel of our beloved dragon gorlies.
Collab Project: This project has been in the works for a while and I can't wait to show it off. A comic I'm working on with my bestie that's more action oriented but still incredibly queer! I'm not sure how we'll release it but that will potentially be on here :)
Project FS/SDWTDL/GEN: This is gonna be (hopefully) my entry in this summer/fall's Tapas web novel contest. I've posted about it on my blog and my Patreon, but it's gonna be something very different from my other stuff, purposefully so to challenge myself and try writing in different voices and tones and such to grow as a writer.
