Raven woke in a daze, she felt weak from the long restless night. She wished it was Saturday but with it only being Thursday she had to get up for school.

She got up and took a long warm shower to get rid of the sleepy daze. Getting dressed and ready for school was the easiest part of the winter morning in Beaufort Conneticut. It was walking to the bus stop from her house that Raven hated the most. It was still winter, though very close to spring, still the sun didnt rise until closer to eight.

Raven had a fear of the dark and she never liked to be alone in the vast silence. Before her older brother graduated he had walked with her to the bus stop. Now that he was off to college Raven hated the winter mornings alone as she walked the mile to the bus.

She did it with a brave face on only for her mother who was worried about her since the accident. With all the therapists and doctors it still didn't help her to get through the trauma she had been through and her mother thought she would never be fixed.

As she walked down the street she kept her phone on and tried to control her breathing. There were people around but it didn't help her racing heart. Raven got to the bus stop and as she waited she stayed directly under the street light.

There were other kids waiting for the bus and when the bus finally came Raven was still tense. It was only twenty minutes to school and she still had an hour until the sun rises over the horizon. When she finally got in the school twenty agonizing minutes later she took in a deep breathe.

She was walking down the noisy hall to her locker when she was tripped. Her back fell off her shoulder and thankfully nothing fell out. She stood back up, put her bag on her shoulder, and turned to the sound of laughter. It was Jasmine and her 'fans'.

"Oh, sorry I didnt see you there." Jasmine giggled. Raven just stared at the ground and hurried down the hall.
